🎉 Leadership Conference 2026 Speaker Announcement!

This year, we’re delighted to be joined by Alan Frow, Global Team Leader of Advance Movement — a church-planting and strengthening movement serving in more than 30 nations.

Alan also serves as Lead Pastor of Southlands Church, a growing and multiplying family of churches in Southern California.

Originally from Durban, South Africa, Alan and his wife, Rynelle, moved to Southern California with their three children in 2007. They have now been married and serving in ministry together for more than 30 years. When they’re not leading churches, they enjoy coffee, trips to the beach, and a round of golf together.

Alan is also the author of four books, including his most recent release, A Fire by Night: Becoming a People of God’s Presence.

Theology for Life is a course for ANYONE, whether you are new to faith, or have been a Christian forever, young or old, male or female.

Robin actually enjoyed the course so much that he did it twice!

Preaching in the Prison: Cavite Open Door Commission Church’s Story 🇵🇭

This past year, we invested in expanding our global mission, including prison ministry in the Philippines. CODCC has been faithfully serving those in jail, sharing God’s love, hope and grace with people who are hurt, broken and sometimes feel forgotten.

Rolando shares the impact the ministry has been having:
“Every time we enter the jail, we are reminded that God sees every person equally and that His grace is available to everyone.”

Take just a few minutes to take in this uplifting and inspiring testimony of God's goodness!

This is just one story from across the Commission family: a global community that now spans more than 40,000 people across 625 churches in 19 nations, with thousands of stories like CODCC’s of God breaking into lives and communities around the world.

NEW BLOG | The Gospel of Grace in Ladispoli 🇮🇹

Over the weekend of 1–3 May, churches from across Italy, England, Portugal, and the United States gathered together in Ladispoli for the annual Insieme Conference.

From beach baptisms and Bible teaching from Terry Virgo to worship and stories of Gospel growth, the weekend was a joyful reminder that God is moving powerfully in Italy. 🤍

This year’s conference now includes Saturday, meaning even more people can join us! We also know that Saturdays can create some childcare challenges, so we’re pleased to share that we’ll be offering kids' provision during the conference. 🎉

Alongside an unmanned creche space available every day, on Saturday ONLY, we’ll also be running:
👧 3–5s group
🧒 6–8s group

Spaces are limited to 20 children per group and are available for those who haven’t been able to arrange childcare elsewhere.

If you’d like to book a space, sign up here: https://commission.churchsuite.com/events/ulhjf2hf

Please note: once spaces are full, we won’t be able to accommodate additional children, so please only bring your children if you have booked them into the kids provision❗

This year, for the first time, we are excited to offer our Interns the opportunity to go on an overseas trip ✈️🌍

We are hoping to join the Insieme Conference (Together Conference), which serves a number of churches and church plants in Italy that are connected with Commission.

While this will be an optional part of the Internship this year, our hope is that as many of us as possible will go and gain a bigger vision of all that God is doing across our Commission family and around the world.

This trip will take place in April 2027, and we’ll be finalising plans for flights and accommodation during the first residential.

So, if you’re interested, check out our website for more information about the Intern year: www.commission.global/training/commission-intern-year

Today, we were challenged, encouraged, stretched, and reminded again that healthy leadership really matters - because people matter. 🙌

A huge thank you to our amazing speakers, Margaret Ochieng, Paul Johnson, Stephen Mathews, and Charlotte Walker, who each brought such wisdom, honesty, and practical insight as we explored what it means to care well for people.

In the main sessions, Margaret & Paul spoke powerfully on leadership, governance, care, and building a healthy church culture.

“Most failures of care in church leadership are not sudden events; they are the visible fruit of invisible systemic conditions that were present from the beginning, hidden in blind spots, enabled at every stage, and left unconfronted.”

Such a powerful reminder that good governance is not separate from pastoral care - it is care.

And with Paul, we explored the pressures church leadership can bring, how to prevent burnout, and how to build rhythms that sustain emotional and spiritual health in the long term.

We also reflected on how teams can navigate conflict well and create cultures of psychological safety, because “unity is found through the resolution of conflict, not the avoidance of it.”

Alongside this, we had brilliant seminars on finance - because looking after staff involves money too - and the importance of partnership and building healthy teams as we pursue a shared vision together.

We had such a great time and would definitely encourage you to keep an ear out for the recordings coming soon! 👀
