VISION DAY 2026

We're gathering all together at Winton Methodist Church to spend the day thinking about where God may be leading us. We'll be led by the Rev'd Dave Bishop, an experienced Baptist Minister and in worship by Josh and Florrie Bishop. It's going to be an amazing day together. Sarah Jones, the first person to be ordained in the Church of England having previously made a gender change, is bringing her tour, ‘Everyday Normal’. to the south coast. You're invited to join us at St Luke's Church, Winton, BH3 7LR on Wednesday 21 October. Doors open at 7pm with the evening starting at 7.30pm

The session will offer an entertaining exploration for those who would like to understand trans issues for themselves from someone who can speak from personal experience on the everyday reality of being trans.

In Sarah’s own words, “We'll think about the issues and the concerns of today and we'll look to the future to see what that might hold. We'll laugh together. We might cry.”

St Luke's Church is host to the Bournemouth Youth Handbell Team. Cathy Beeby. the founder, has been shortlisted for Classic FM's 'Teacher of the Year Award' - but she needs your vote!

Statement from the Bishop of Southampton:

I am deeply saddened by the devastating fires in the New Forest which have destroyed hundreds of acres of precious landscape and caused the loss of countless animals and habitats.The New Forest is a place of extraordinary natural beauty, cherished by local communities and visitors alike. At times like this, we are reminded how fragile creation can be and how much we depend upon the care and stewardship of the natural world entrusted to us by God.

My prayers are with all those affected, including the firefighters, emergency services, Forestry England staff, farmers, local residents and volunteers, including many from our churches, who have worked tirelessly to bring the situation under control.

As communities across our region reflect on this loss, let us also recommit ourselves to caring for God's creation and supporting efforts to restore and protect this unique and treasured landscape for future generations.
