“It’s a Wonderful Life” is a Christmas classic and ranked by the American Film Institute as ‘the most inspirational film of all time’. It tells the story of George Bailey who thinks that his life has not amounted to anything and that the world would be better off without him - so considers ending it all on a snowy Christmas Eve by jumping from a bridge. An angel called Clarence rescues him and shows George how worse off the world, his family and his community would have been had he never been born. The revelation transforms him!

What if Jesus had never been born? What if there was no nativity, no manger, no star in the East?

Without the birth of Christ:

1. We would not know what God was like (Jn 14:9);

2. We would not know forgiveness of sins (1 Tim. 1:15);

3. We would not have eternal life (Jn 3:16);

4. The devil’s works would not have been destroyed (1 Jn 3:8);

5. The world would be in darkness (Jn 12:46).

But, he did come.

This Christmas, thank God for Jesus!
