There is some gorgeous music to be heard, and all are welcome to celebrate and worship with us in this service.

For the first time, we’re welcoming visiting choirs to sing in a truly remarkable setting, featuring Lancashire’s tallest tower and one of the most striking, colourful organs in the region.

This is your chance to lead services in a space that’s as inspiring as the music itself.

We still have spaces to join us, no matter your age or voice! Our juniors rehearse on Thursday evenings from 6:15-7pm, and our adults are also on Thursday evenings from 7-9:30pm.

To mark the beginning of Holy Week as we prepare to follow Christ’s journey to the cross, we are holding a service of music and readings for passiontide on Sunday 29th March at 4pm. There will be various choir anthems, alongside congregational hymns and bible readings for this reflective time. All are welcome 🙏

A huge well done to our junior choir who sang as part of our Sunday Eucharist for the first time yesterday! 👏

They sang Rutter’s A Clare Benediction as the anthem for Mothering Sunday, and although small in number, they smashed it! ⭐️🌼

This morning, we featured on the Daily Service 🤩 our junior choir sang their own anthem, and our adults sang two joyful hymns, conducted by our DoM Philip, and accompanied by our Sub Organist Logan 🎶
If you missed it, don’t worry! It is available to listen on catch up. We also will be heard in tomorrow’s daily service (March 10th) singing with the Diocese of Manchester Choral Scholars, which will air on BBC R4 Extra at 9:45am.

Join us this Sunday afternoon for our monthly service of Choral Evensong, this time marking the beginning of Lent with themed music by Morley, Halls, and Bach. Additionally, the day after evensong marks the anniversary of the death of English composer Herbert Howells, so you will be treated to Ronald Watson’s beautiful Elegy dedicated to him as the concluding voluntary.
