Rev Alan shares about our new morning service sermon series, ‘Movement on our Frontlines.’ It is based on the principle that where you are now
truly matters to God. Please do read what Rev Alan has written, it’s for all of us!

Here's a quick reminder about a couple of events taking place TOMORROW , SATURDAY:

Cafe on the Green takes place in St. Peter's Primary School (BL1 6LA) from 9am-1.30pm. Come along for delicious food and excellent service, with all proceeds going to Operation Smile UK for children with cleft palates.

Out and About are meeting opposite St. Peter's Church at 9.30am to go on an easy to moderate, 6-mile walk around the Heysham area. All welcome to join them

Please note, in case you were planning on coming last-minute, the DTI Quiz Night scheduled for tomorrow evening in the Parish Centre has been postponed. It will now take place on Saturday 18th July. Sorry for any inconvenience this causes.

Also, in case you aren't aware, it's Bolton Ironman this weekend and road closures may affect you getting to church on Sunday morning. Find out more at https://www.ironman.com/races/im703-bolton/traffic-impact

Happy Pentecost everyone! Come Holy Spirit…

When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. (Acts 2:1–4)

From Lectio 365:
And so today we celebrate the birth of this 2000 year-old, 2 billion strong, messed-up, blessed-up, revolutionary movement of justice and love we call The Church. She is not perfect. Many grave sins have been committed. Our hearts must often grieve. But still the Church of Jesus Christ remains the greatest agency of human blessing the world has ever known: starting schools and hospitals, feeding the hungry, caring for the poor, inspiring the greatest art the world has ever known, healing broken families, redeeming cultures and reconciling warring tribes, establishing the foundations for scientific innovation and human flourishing, shaping entire civilisations, and above all, proclaiming today on this Pentecost Sunday the same, stunning good news of salvation for the nations in every generation through Jesus Christ our Lord.
