Hi everyone, we hope you are all keeping safe and well! It has been such a long time since we have been able to meet for Messy Church, and we really miss seeing you all. We don't yet know when we will be able to start back, but we will keep you posted.

During our time off Oli has got a new job - he is finishing with St Peter's Parish this Sunday (26th) and moving to Bridlington (by the seaside in Yorkshire) in a few weeks time. There is a chance to drop round to say goodbye tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon, 2:30-4:30pm outside Oli's house (next door to the Hope Centre) if you would like.

As part of saying 'goodbye' Oli has recorded us a video of the Lord's Prayer with actions - you might like to pray with him. God bless, and we look forward to catching up with you all again soon :)

Hello everyone, hope you are safe and well! We’ve heard about an international Messy Church adventure day happening today and thought you might be interested :)

To celebrate the amazing international Messy Church community and to bring a little joy to the day we’ll be setting sail (virtually), taking off (in our imaginations) and revving our (digital) engines for a whole day of Mess!

Join us on the Messy Church YouTube Channel from 7.00 am (BST) all the way to 10.00 pm, where we’ll be journeying through the Bible with worship, storytelling, prayer, food for thought and all sorts of Messy fun.

We hope you are all keeping safe and well. While we aren't able to meet together, here are some ideas for celebrating a Messy Easter at Home! Post photos of your Messy Easter at Home and tag us in :) God bless you all! Oli, Steph, Sarah and all of the Messy Church Johnson Fold team xx

There are some great craft ideas and things to talk about in the PDF on this link: https://www.messychurch.org.uk/resource/messy-good-friday-home

A story to listen to together:
The Garden, the curtain and the Cross: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z5rw2U6cPgI

Songs to sing and dance along to:
My Lighthouse (with actions): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JeJvKkBV6rY
Happy Day! Easter Celebration Song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vlWPGWfIvwU

A prayer to say together (one person could read the main bit, and everyone join in at the end with a big ‘AMEN!’):
Thank you Jesus for dying on the Cross to rescue us from all the mad, bad and sad things in the world. And thank You that You didn’t stay dead – that You rose again to new life so that we can have life with You forever! Please rescue us and our world from this virus, and all of the other mad, bad and sad things. Be with us. Look after us. Show us Your love. Amen!

You could say The Lord’s Prayer together (with actions if you like):
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power and the glory are Yours,
Now and forever. Amen!

When you eat together:
Remember that at His last meal with His friends (the Last Supper) Jesus told them that He was going to die to rescue us all from all the mad, the bad and the sad things. He told them to remember Him whenever they ate bread and drank wine together.
As you eat your meals today take a minute to remember Jesus together. Thank Him for His love, tell Him about any mad, bad or sad things that you need His help with, and welcome Him into your home today to be with you and care for you all like He promised He would.
