This Sunday (7th June) sees the Ironman race return to Bolton. Providentially the route does NOT affect the immediate area around Affetside, so it will be possible to get to church. We recommend checking the Ironman route map online and giving yourself a little extra time to travel just in case of delays. The event is more likely to impact public transport, so if you want to use the bus service to get to us, check the bee network app before travelling.

Do you sing at Trinity Church? YES, WE DO!

During our worship service we sing metric psalms from the Trinity Psalter. Metric psalms are psalms from the Bible that have been changed slightly to make them easier to sing. For example some words might be changed or rearranged to make the psalm fit a regular rhythm. We sing these metric psalms to a variety of well known tunes from famous hymns. We also chant psalms, which means singing the words as they appear in the Bible, often in a 'call and response' style where the Pastor sings a line and the congregation sings the next line in response.

Whether you are familiar with singing psalms in worship or not, it's very easy to pick up. Join us every Sunday at 10:30am at Affetside Chapel.

Today we continued with our series on The Apostles' Creed. This week we considered the names listed in the creed for Jesus, and what these names teach us about our Saviour. We'll be continuing with this series over the coming weeks, feel free to join us at 10:30am on Sundays at Affetside Chapel.

This Sunday we will be taking a little break from our series on The Apostles' Creed and focussing instead on Ascension Day. Join us to study God's Word, worship and share communion, 10:30am at Affetside Chapel, Watling Street, Affetside.

Acts 1:9-11: "After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight. They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. 'Men of Galilee,' they said, 'why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.'"

How often does Trinity Church have Communion? EVERY WEEK!

Our practice is to have communion (sometimes referred to as The Lord's Supper or The Lord's Table) every week, towards the end of the Sunday worship service. We use one loaf of bread and a large cup of red wine, which are passed from person to person.

Anyone who is baptised is welcome to have communion, even if you're a visitor. However, if communion is not for you, you don't have to leave the service. You can discreetly let the bread and wine pass you by, there will be no attention drawn.

We meet every Sunday at 10:30am at Affetside Chapel on Watling Street in Affetside. Everyone is welcome to join us for worship.

Are children welcome at Trinity Church? MOST DEFINITELY!

At Trinity Church we love welcoming all ages, including children. Tots, teens and everyone in between can join us for worship. We encourage parents to remain in the main service with their children - no-one minds if children make noise! You can bring quiet toys and snacks for your little ones, and we have sermon note sheets available for older kids. If you do need to step out of the service, we have a very comfy room just off the main church hall where you will find toys, books and colouring things available to use.

At Trinity Church, all children who have been baptised are welcome to participate in communion, there is no age limit.

If you have any questions, feel free to message us before visiting.

This Sunday's sermon will be the second in our series on the Apostles' Creed. This time we'll be looking at 'God the Father'. Join us as we explore the history and theology of this creed and dive deeper into what it has to teach us today. We meet at 10:30am, Affetside Chapel, Watling Road, and our service is followed, as always, by refreshments.
