What an amazing way of recreating what Whitby Abbey would have looked like!

Wonder if they could recreate Bolton Priory with drones?

🤩 The ruins of Whitby Abbey, with drones lighting up and showing how it would have looked.

International Women’s Day was celebrated after the 10.30am service last Sunday, with delicious cakes baked by the coffee team and flowers supplied by Hannah Theakston.

A big thank you to everyone who prepared the room, baked cakes, brewed and served coffee and washed up afterwards.

This coming Sunday is the Third Sunday in Lent.

We will be remembering the saints Perpetua and Felicity in our service who were martyrs in Carthage in 203AD. They were women who defied cultural and gender norms in the Early Church and who stand as exemplars of the faith to this day.

Their Feast Day comes after the International Women’s Day of Prayer which is celebrated today, Friday 6th March and which will also be remembered in our service.

St David’s day was celebrated at Bolton Priory, with the Lord’s Prayer spoken in Welsh and singing of great uplifting hymns, accompanied by our Organ Scholar, who played her first solo service wonderfully!

We had fantastic Welsh refreshments after the service in the Boyle Room. A huge thank you to this weeks coffee team, who put on a magnificent spread of Leek vol au vents, bara brith, buns with daffodils on, Welsh Cakes and the lightest strawberry cream cake! The Boyle room was decorated with daffodils and leeks!

A huge thank you to Liz, Caro, Rosemarie and Carole. St David was celebrated in style and enjoyed by everyone.
