St Oswald, Bollington

If you’ve never been in St Oswald’s in Bollington here’s an opportunity, come and have a look round. We’ve got a Coffee Morning this week - Thurs 27th Aug - from 11.15am. Teas, coffees, cakes and raffle - we’re raising much needed money for church funds.
There is the regular Thurs morning Communion service beforehand starting as usual at 10.30am and we’d love more people to come too - I promise to keep the sermon short!!! Rev Nancy x

There is a concert in St Oswald's by Macclesfield Male Voice Choir on Monday 27th July 7.30pm. Raising money for both St Oswald's and East Cheshire Hospice. Tickets £12.50 available on the door.

We needed to change the first hymn in this morning’s service in Bollington Parish Church, St Oswald’s. “Hey Jude” isn’t in the hymn book, so we went for “All creatures of our God and King” which is hymn number 10. 😉

Today, Monday 29th June at 12 noon is the funeral of Pauline Henson in Bollington Parish Church, St Oswald's and all are welcome.
Born in 1949 to Jean and George Wragge at Green Mount on Grimshaw Lane, Pauline lived in Bollington until a few months ago, with her years lived in Hollin Road, Princess Drive, Gleave Avenue, Coope Road and Crossfield Road.
May she rest in peace and rise in glory.

We have a funeral, a burial service, in St John's graveyard on Monday (29th June).
Access will be needed for the mourners, the hearse, the funeral directors and the gravediggers.

Does anyone know whose cars these are? They urgently need to be moved today.

Parking in the graveyard entrance, even at the side, especially at a weekend, stops the payback team being able to get in to cut the grass. They bring a big trailer and mini bus and need wide turning access.
Access for large vehicles to the graveyard is important. The graveyard really matters to the community and it matters when it can't be maintained.

The Good Grief Café, for bereavement support, is on Thursday 9th April 2026 2pm-3.30pm in St Oswald's, Bollington Parish Church. This is a community group organised for all who have experienced the loss of someone close. In partnership with the doctors, The Middlewood Practice. Every second Thursday of the month. (There are some lovely, lovely people who go who will have gone through similar experiences - and I'm there to brew up for everyone - Rev Nancy x)

Up early on Easter Day? See if you can make it for 7am on top of White Nancy to see the Easter Fire with Bollington Parish Church. A 15-20min service.
Up later? Please do support your parish church at Easter and come to St Oswald's at 10.30am for the service on Easter Day. The little team worked hard and beautifully decorated church this morning and now it smells of spring flowers. With candles, choir and organ we'll sing "Jesus Christ is risen today" and "Thine be the glory!" A message of joy and newness of life for you and for all. Happy Easter. Rev Nancy x
