The Good Grief Café, for bereavement support, is on Thursday 9th April 2026 2pm-3.30pm in St Oswald's, Bollington Parish Church. This is a community group organised for all who have experienced the loss of someone close. In partnership with the doctors, The Middlewood Practice. Every second Thursday of the month. (There are some lovely, lovely people who go who will have gone through similar experiences - and I'm there to brew up for everyone - Rev Nancy x)

Up early on Easter Day? See if you can make it for 7am on top of White Nancy to see the Easter Fire with Bollington Parish Church. A 15-20min service.
Up later? Please do support your parish church at Easter and come to St Oswald's at 10.30am for the service on Easter Day. The little team worked hard and beautifully decorated church this morning and now it smells of spring flowers. With candles, choir and organ we'll sing "Jesus Christ is risen today" and "Thine be the glory!" A message of joy and newness of life for you and for all. Happy Easter. Rev Nancy x

Happy Easter everyone in Bollington. If you haven't been to church for a while this is the weekend to come!! You coming along just a few times a year really shows your support for your church in Bollington. Grandparents - ask your grandchildren to come with you. Come and see. There is joy, peace, hope and promise in
Bollington Parish Church, St Oswald's celebrations of Easter. Everyone is welcome to come along:
Maundy Thursday 7.30pm Holy Communion followed by Silent Vigil hour and compline.
Good Friday: 10.30am Messy Easter with activities and retelling the greatest story ending at noon with fish finger butties.
Good Friday service at 2pm: A profoundly moving service as we hear the long passion Gospel, listen to the music of Stainer's crucifixion from the Capriccio Vocal Ensemble, distribution of communion for anyone who wishes to receive (will end about 3.30pm).
Early Easter morning: 7am On top of White Nancy lighting the Easter Fire (service lasts 15-20mins). Dogs welcome!
Easter Day Holy Communion at 10.30am in St Oswald's with organ, choir and hymns followed by an Easter Egg hunt for children.
Consider coming to all of it, to immerse yourself in the depth of the drama of the greatest story ever told, the last supper, the arrest, the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ following through Maundy Thursday, Good Friday to Easter Day, and it will feed your soul.

Mothering Sunday in Bollington Parish Church, St Oswald's, service at 10.30am. Come along to give thanks for your own mother. If you can, bring your mother, grandmother, children and grandchildren - it's a time to reflect, rejoice and reset. There will be daffodils. Rev Nancy x

22nd February is Thinking Day for the worldwide Guide movement with 2026 the centenary. All are welcome, especially former Guides, Brownies, Rangers and Rainbows, to join with the units from Bollington in celebrating Thinking Day's theme of Friendship at St Oswald's Communion service on Sun 22nd at 10.30am.
I remember in Bollington Guides being given my Queen's Guide Award from Heather Cann and the Guide leaders in my time were Mrs Etherington, Mrs Kershaw and Mrs Chater. I failed at first because warming up tinned hotdogs didn't count as proper camp cooking. Bring on the eggy bread! Rev Nancy x

Seeking spiritual help with self-care, self-reflection and self-control, turning away from self-indulgence. Turning again towards Christ who brings renewal. Rev Nancy x

A good way to start 2026: Come along to St Oswald's New Year's Day - all welcome to a community 'bring along something to share' party lunch. Short service at 10.30am and lunch from around 11.30am. So far we're sharing ham from Barrows and bread from the coop. Rev Nancy x
