Lest we forget.
Today the church family gathered together with civic dignitaries, ex service personnel, and the young and old of the village to mark our annual act of remembrance.
It was lovely to see so many coming together to mark this important time in the life of the nation.
The church has been decorated beautifully with poppy motifs and the silhouettes of the "missing" of the Parish who gave their lives for our freedom.

This Sunday the 9th November is Remembrance Sunday.
Will will mark this at our usual 09:30 am communion service. Then at 10:50 am we will gather around the war memorial at the entrance to the church for prayer and the two minutes silence.
All are welcome at both gatherings. Please join us to mark this important moment in the nation's life.

Yesterday saw a hardy half dozen go "beating the bounds".
We are fortunate to live in such a lovely area where the parish boundary encompasses the shoreline, fields and harbourside.
Lunch was taken at Copyhold farm despite one of the woolly residents having other ideas about the arrangement!
Well done to all for staying the course.

It is with great sadness that we have learnt that the Rev. James Cooper passed away on Saturday.
May he rest in peace and rise in glory.
Please pray for his wife Liz and the family.
He will be greatly missed by all at St Thomas a Becket.

We give thanks today for the harvest and God's bountious blessings to the world.
