Stopped going to church for 11 years and the one thing I missed wasn't the singing — it was somewhere to put all my questions.

Here's something a lot of people carry quietly: a low-level guilt that they're not reading their Bible enough.
Not enough pages. Not enough chapters. Not enough frequency. Not enough retention. Just... not enough.
That guilt is real, and it's heavy. But it's worth asking — where did that measuring stick even come from?
Spiritual growth isn't about logging reading hours. Some people have had one verse completely change their life. Others have read the whole Bible and felt nothing shifted.
Connection matters more than consumption. If guilt is the main thing driving you to the page, that's worth sitting with — not judging yourself for.
You're doing better than you think. 💛

Do you ever feel guilty about your Bible reading habits? What does that pressure feel like for you?

Raise your hand if someone told you to "just read the Bible" and you opened to Genesis, made it through the creation story, hit a genealogy chapter, and quietly closed it forever. 🙋
You are not alone.
The Bible isn't one book — it's a library of 66 books across wildly different genres: poetry, history, prophecy, letters, law, apocalyptic literature... Most of us were never taught HOW to read it, just told that we should.
Starting without a guide can feel like walking into a movie halfway through and being told it'll all make sense eventually. No wonder it feels overwhelming.
There's no shame in needing a starting point. Everyone does.

When you first tried reading the Bible on your own, where did you start — and how did it go?

Can we be honest for a second?
You sit down, open your Bible, read an entire chapter... and have absolutely no idea what just happened. The names are hard to pronounce, the customs are completely foreign, and by verse 12 you've re-read the same sentence four times.
That's not a faith problem. That's a context problem — and it's one of the most common things people experience. The Bible was written across thousands of years, in multiple languages, by dozens of authors, for audiences living in a completely different world than ours. Of course it takes some work to understand.
You're not bad at this. You're just learning — and that's exactly where growth starts. 🌱
Have you ever put your Bible down feeling more confused than when you opened it? What was going on in that moment?

Join us today, Pentecost Sunday!

Pentecost marks the day when the Holy Spirit came upon the first disciples, empowering them to share the good news with boldness and unity. It's often called the birthday of the Church, a celebration of God's Spirit at work in and through His people.

Sunday 24th May, 10:00am for coffee for a 10:30am start.

All are welcome to join us for this special service as we remember and celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit.

"When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place." – Acts 2:1

We look forward to seeing you there!

On this Ascension Day, we join Christians everywhere in remembering Christ risen, reigning, and still at work in our world. As a church here in Blisworth, may we continue to live out His call: to love, to serve, and to boldly be His witnesses.

What a morning! So much cake, chatting and laughter. We shared stories of what makes the Community Café such a special place — its history and its future — with Ted Asworth, the original initiator of the Café, taking pride of place.
Christine Pinfold, long‑term volunteer and church member, cut the official 20‑year celebration cake.

We also unveiled the artwork from the Youth Group Art Festival, now proudly displayed in the Coffee House. Congratulations to Alfie and Poppy, our winning artists.

Thank you to everyone who shared this special day with us.
