National Volunteer Week.
We would like to thank the amazing people that make our churches welcoming and special. From making tea to the countless hours filling out paperwork. Thank You.
Statement of thanks from Rev.Roland Barnes Below.
"O God, Spirit of joy, fill our hearts, set us on fire with love. Burn away our self-centredness that we might be open and generous in all we do and in all we share."
These words of prayer encapsulate the ethos of "Volunteer's Week". The joy of being open, kind and generous with each other and with our neighbours. From something as simple as a friendly "Hello", to giving our time and energy in projects that improve people's and the natural world's wellbeing.
In this "volunteers week" I would like to thank all who volunteer in our many church organised events - Wednesday Welcome Socials, Pop up Cafes, Craft Afternoons, Games Afternoons, Children's Activities, Music Groups, Pastoral Care Visiting, maintaining our beautiful churches and cemeteries, and creating a warm, friendly atmosphere in our churches.
So many people give so generously of their time and resources; I would like to thank them from the bottom of my heart. If anyone would like to help us in our volunteering work, just give me a call. It can be good for you, and good for everyone else. Thankyou.
