โThe greatest use of your abilities is to honour the One who gave them.โ
Have you ever thought about why God has given you the talents, abilities, opportunities, and resources that you have today?
We often think about what we can achieve with them, how far they can take us, or what we can gain from them. But perhaps a more important question is: How are we using what God has entrusted to us?
Serving God is not limited to standing on a stage, singing, preaching, or playing an instrument. It can be seen in the time we willingly give, the people we help, the sacrifices we make, and the ordinary responsibilities we carry out faithfully.
And sometimes, serving God means giving Him our time when we are already busy, offering our abilities when no one notices, or sharing our resources when it would be easier to keep them for ourselves.
The Apostle Peter reminds us:
โAs every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.โ โ 1 Peter 4:10 (KJV)
What God has given us is not meant to end with us. Our gifts are entrusted to us so that we can serve others and bring glory to Him.
One day, the question will not simply be what we were capable of doing, but what we actually did with what God gave us.
May we never become so occupied with building something for ourselves that we forget to use what we have for His glory.
