❤️ Welcome, Revd David McAloon

This morning at Layton Methodist we welcomed Revd David McAloon as he led worship with us for the first time as our new Minister.

David reminded us of something simple but important: love your neighbour — be kind, look out for one another and make everyone feel welcome.

We’re really pleased to welcome David and his wife Carol to Layton. David is here to work alongside us, supporting and sharing in the work already happening across our church and community.

Every week they get stuck in with our Surplus Food Stall — helping sort, set up and share good food that might otherwise go to waste.

It’s young people giving their time, learning new skills and making a real difference in their own community. 🙌♻️

A little update to our opening times and what’s on from Monday 7 September 👇

Oasis Community Café will be open:

☕ Monday – 8:30am–3:00pm
☕ Tuesday – 8:30am–3:00pm
☕ Wednesday – 8:30am–1:30pm
☕ Thursday – 8:30am–3:00pm
☕ Friday – 8:30am–1:30pm
☕ Saturday – 9:30am–1:30pm

And there’s plenty happening across the week too, including free breakfast, craft and chat, board games, toddler group, Wholesome lunch, chair-based exercise, digital support, Slimming World, Active Blackpool, Layton Larder, surplus food, youth and family activities and more.

Last café menu orders at 1pm.

Tonight was the last in our current series of Forward Project youth nights 💚

Over the last few weeks, our young people have been having fun, making friends and helping us understand what they want to see more of in Layton.

Tonight we introduced Pride in Place Layton & Grange Park and talked about what it could mean for their local community.

One thing is already clear: young people want more spaces, more activities and more opportunities closer to home.

We’ll be back in September to keep listening and help make sure their voices are part of what comes next including inviting Chris Webb MP..🌱
