As we have had a few days of wet weather this week we have had a few days of sun. There is something about the sun that fills my heart. Yesterday I had a short walk to the local park and I sat. I sat and listened to the people walking by, the dogs barking and it got me thinking Everyone is in a rush to be somewhere. , I get it. Life is rushed. We have places to be, people to see, time restrictions all over the place. It's tricky. But do we ever actually stop? Do we ever just take in the scenery and search for the beauty of the place we're in at the exact moment we're in it? I'm just as guilty as the next person. We are a rushed generation, but when did we get so ignorant?
Last weekend, a friend challenged me to find value in every day, to pursue Jesus in absolutely everything. And today I've sat and literally done nothing but appreciate humanity, in all of its forms. I've finally been forced to be still. And although it's slightly awkward to sit alone in The park for almost 2 hours, it's also been super beautiful. To be surrounded by other humans, to watch the world go by, it's peaceful. It's where Jesus is.
I can see Him in the little girl skipping joyfully as she holds her mums hand, I can see Him in the laughter of the runners running by , I can see Him in the heart of the people throwing the ball for the dogs. He's in the middle of every conversation that's currently surrounding me. He's everywhere. When we stop to listen and to really look, to seek Him in every part of life, there He is. Right by our side, above and below, behind and ahead, always and forever. Encouraging us look further and deeper into the daily grind, pursuing us even more than we're pursuing Him. His love is wild, and crazy. It's not boring and it's always an adventure. Be still. Pause. Take in life. Be thankful, tell people they are loved, forgive people who need it and just talk to Him, just be with Him. He's the greatest adventure.
