This is what we love about the MPower leadership programme. Last years group are still active on WhatsApp and are praying for this years group! Heres a prayer from Hannah Turner :

Loving Lord Jesus, thank you for coming into our lives. Thank you for every step you have taken with us, whether we have noticed you or not ❤️ thank you for the transformations we have seen in ourselves and others, and the friendships that have been built in your name 🫂 I pray for blessings over all those about to start the amazing MPower journey, that they too get as much from the experience as we all did 😊 may the Holy Spirit be present and visible in all your sessions and may the leaders have their own cups refilled as they pour into others, in your name Lord ✝️

Not just a course! Great evening re-union organised by last year's Morecambe and Lancaster Deanery group. Gathering to laugh, eat and pray for each other. We prayed for Sue who is about to go and be part of the hospitality team on Iona for 3 months and we also finally managed to issue Loz with her M:Power certificate and mug! Praise Jesus for M:Power

This week we have been thinking about Mission and Evangelism and asking the question: what is our land and where can we see God at work and join in. We also thought about the fears and hopes as we think about evangelism.

We're excited to be able to launch the new Lay Pioneer funding for parishes! If you are a parish in the Diocese of Blackburn in a low income community, with an idea to employ someone to do something creative and innovative to reach out to those not currently in the church, please do prayerfully consider if this is something your parish could apply for.

More information is available in the Parish Guidehttps://www.blackburn.anglican.org/storage/general-files/shares/DIP/Parish%20Guide%20Grant%20Applications%20for%20Ignite%20Team%20and%20Lay%20Pioneers%20-%20November%202024.pdf

We're also running two webinars (in conjunction with Ignite Team funding stream for children, youth and families) on Tuesday 3rd December 2024 at 7pm, and Thursday 5th December 2024 at 2pm. Booking for these sessions is via this link https://form.jotform.com/243053799404057

If you're unable to come along to one of the webinars please do contact Rev Rebecca Roberts (M:Power Project Lead) [email protected] for an informal conversation.

We are hiring!

The M:Power training programme is nationally recognised, and is leading the way in calling out and equipping people from urban estate parishes to play key leadership roles in the life of the local church across Lancashire. Over the last six years, over 120 people have completed the nine month M:Power training programme.

Exciting news from Bishop Philip to share this morning! In the coming weeks we will be able to share more about some exciting M:Power developments, but for now let’s give thanks to God!

We’re currently working on plans for M:Power Hubs across the Diocese of Blackburn for this autumn, if you or someone you know might be interested in doing M:Power please do get in touch.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Major new funding award for our Diocese from the national church for mission/evangelism work across Lancashire in the next decade.
It will support us in continuing to grow the church across Lancashire in depth and number while simultaneously shaping a younger, more socio-economically and culturally diverse church. Full story: https://bit.ly/3KEJnH5
Meanwhile Bishop Philip has also released a video message to parishes this morning to coincide with the announcement. In the video he says: “This new investment will make a massive difference to our common life. It will enable us, for example, to expand our ministry to the young; strengthen church life in urban areas; offer enhanced support to clergy and sustain pioneering programmes of work such as M:Power and our ‘Parish Renewal Programme’.” Watch the full video message here: https://bit.ly/3xjo4aT

This week on M:Power we are prayer walking our communities. Last night we prayed for the Kingdom in Morecambe and took Holy feet out onto Holy ground and prayed with some broken but amazing people. These are some of the images we came across on our walk. Our message to those people we prayed for was that they ARE good enough to go to heaven because Jesus made the way for them. Just give your heart to him and believe! We certainly don't get to heaven by doing good deeds!!!
