Prayer doves for at St Mary's. They were up just in time for , but most of us weren't at St Mary's on that day. You may like to see them - and pray some of them - on Sunday. There are more doves in the church, if you'd like to add a .

It was really good to join our friends at Bishopstoke Methodist Church today.

During the talk on Acts 2 we made paper sculptures. They represent:

Green card - 'all the Lord's followers were together in ONE PLACE' (v.1)
Blue and red crepe paper - 'the sound of a MIGHTY WIND' and 'FIERY TONGUES' (v.2-3)
Question mark - “What does all this mean?” (v.12)
People - the Spirit is for EVERYONE (v.17)
Cross - it all points to JESUS, and we need to respond to him (v.22-39)

Can you spot the sculpture with 'food' on it? We enjoyed a wonderful lunch together following the service!

Tomorrow is the Day of Pentecost!

Our services will be:
8 am - Holy Communion (Book of Common Prayer) at St Mary's, Church Road
10.30 am - United Pentecost service for all ages at Bishopstoke Methodist Church, Sedgwick Road, followed by a bring-and-share lunch

Many thanks to everyone who helped with our Christian Aid café and plant sale by growing plants, making cakes or marmalade, donating raffle prizes, setting up, helping on the day, or simply coming along. So far, it has raised about £850 for Christian Aid. We couldn't have done this without your help and kindness, and there were lots of smiles both inside and outside the church!

Our Christian Aid café and plant sale is coming up on Saturday 16 May from 10am - 12.30pm at St Mary's .

As at all our cafés, there will be stalls, including a raffle, as well as delicious homemade cake. But this month it's all to support the life-changing work of Christian Aid in some of the world's most needy communities.

Today, let us pray that the Holy Spirit would move over the lives of our Five, bringing light and life where they need it most.

Eternal God, eternal Trinity,
You are a mystery as deep as the sea; the more I search, the more I find, and the more I find the more I search for You. But I can never be satisfied; what I receive will ever leave me desiring more. When You fill my soul, I have an ever-greater hunger, and I grow more famished for Your light. I desire above all to see You, the true light, as You really are.
