Come along to our Baby & Toddler Group, held every Wednesday during term time, 10:00am – 11:30am, here at The Emmaus Centre in Thorley.

It's a relaxed, welcoming space where you stay with your child throughout the session, and we provide:

🎨 Arts and crafts activities
🧩 Free play with lots of toys
👑 Fancy dress fun
🌳 An enclosed garden with outdoor toys
🎶 A sing-song to end the session

☕ Plus free tea, coffee, toast and biscuits!

All parents, guardians and carers with babies and toddlers are welcome — come along, meet others and let the little ones have fun!

Genesis 45:1–15 is one of the most emotionally powerful scenes in all of Scripture: the moment the long story of betrayal finally meets the possibility of reconciliation. Joseph, once the favoured son, stripped and sold, now stands with power in his hands—and he chooses not revenge, but revelation. He weeps, he speaks, and he opens a door that only God can open: forgiveness in the family.

And then—astonishingly—he reframes the story in the light of God’s providence: “God sent me before you to preserve life” (v5). Joseph says it again and again (vv7–8): behind their sin, God has been at work for salvation. This is not Joseph excusing evil; it is Joseph refusing to let evil have the final word.

Gen 37: 1-4, 12-28
Genesis 37 does not give us a tidy moment of divine explanation. It gives us something harder and more realistic: God’s faithfulness often works under the surface, over time, through situations that are genuinely evil and genuinely painful. God does not endorse the betrayal, but God will not be defeated by it. In the chapters ahead, God will turn what was meant for harm into a means of preservation—not by pretending the harm wasn’t real, but by redeeming the story.
