Midweek Reflection | Psalm 33

On Sunday, we reflected on Psalm 33 and the reminder that praise is not a performance, it is our response to who God is.

As we reach the middle of the week, it is worth pausing to ask ourselves:

Have I remembered to praise God outside of Sunday?

Praise is not confined to church services, hymns, or worship songs. It is a posture of the heart that recognises God's goodness, faithfulness, and presence in every season of life.

The Psalm ends with these words:

"We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name."
—Psalm 33:20-21

Whatever this week has brought, joys or challenges, encouragements or concerns, we are reminded that our hope is not found in our own strength, but in the Lord who watches over His people and whose love never fails.

Today, take a moment to stop, give thanks, and lift your eyes to Him.

Praise. Trust. Hope.

Yesterday marked the final service of our neighbouring church, Colston Wellpark Parish Church, bringing to a close 111 years of faithful worship, witness, prayer, and service.

Many people will be feeling a mixture of gratitude, sadness, reflection, and hope as they look back on all that God has done through the life of the congregation. Generations have been baptised, married, comforted, encouraged, and brought to faith within that church family. Such a legacy is not measured simply in years, but in lives touched for the Kingdom of God.

Today, we want to acknowledge that loss and give thanks for the faithful ministry of Colston Wellpark over more than a century. We also pray God's blessing upon the congregation as they begin this new chapter as part of Springburn Trinity Parish Church.

As one church family in the wider body of Christ, we stand with our brothers and sisters in prayer, trusting that the God who has been faithful through the past 111 years will continue to lead and guide them in the years ahead.

And should any friends of Colston Wellpark find themselves seeking fellowship, friendship, or a place to worship, you will always find a warm welcome at Kenmure.

"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever." — Hebrews 13:8

With our prayers and best wishes,
