📣 Exciting news to share from Trinity Church!

We’re delighted to announce that Trinity Church is moving to Colston Wellpark Church!

This Sunday, 13th September at 10:30am, we’ll gather for our final service at the Guide Hall, before holding our first Sunday service at Colston Wellpark Church on 20th September at 10:30am.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone at the Guide Hall for giving Trinity Church a home over the past 18 months. They have been so welcoming and accommodating, and their support has meant a great deal to us.

We’re also hugely thankful to everyone at Colston Wellpark Church for the gracious and supportive way they have welcomed us and for giving Trinity the opportunity to keep the doors of Colston Wellpark Church open for worship on a Sunday morning.

We’re looking forward to this next chapter in the life of Trinity Church and all that lies ahead.

Exciting times ahead — and everyone is very welcome to join us! 🙏

After describing the seductive power of Babylon and how Babylon will inevitably fall, God tells His people to come out of her.

The interesting thing is that God is not talking to unbelievers, who don't know Him, but to believers, to the church.

This isn't saying that we shouldn't enjoy things, like holidays or a nice house, but it is saying that these things shouldn't distract us from God.

And how often we need to hear this. Even as Christians, we can so easily lose sight of God, which is why, in His great mercy and love, He is calling us out, so that we don't share in Babylon's punishment.

In 2007 and 2008, there was the global financial crash.

Before the crash, everyone was prospering and enjoying great luxury. It seemed that the party would go on forever.

But out of nowhere, the party ended, everything collapsed and people lost everything.

The book of Revelation describes a similar picture with the city of Babylon.

The entire world prospers from her, everybody having a great time and enjoying her luxuries. They think: we don't need God when we have such great riches here with Babylon.

And then... in one hour, Babylon falls. Everything collapses and the people are left with nothing.

When new cars are being displayed in places like London and Monaco, a large crowd gathers to watch and to cheer.

People stand in awe of these cars and are captivated by the wealth and luxury that they represent.

But perhaps some of the people cheering in that crowd had earlier walked past a preacher preaching about God and had no time for it.

And so, they exchanged the everlasting riches of Christ, which they can't lose, for the fleeting riches of Babylon, which they can't keep.

Whether it's a nation or individual, Babylon tries to seduce all of us with wealth, power, fame and luxury.

Babylon tells us that it's fine to steal, lie, cheat, bully and compromise to get these things, because that's what life is all about.

Why does she say this?

It's not because she loves us; it's because she wants us distracted from God.

And we all know just how easy it is to become obsessed with these material things. So, we need to keep checking our priorities and making sure that our focus remains on God.

The city of Babylon described in Revelation represents what we see all around us in the world today.

But the worst part is that Babylon is also in all of our hearts by nature. If Jesus hadn't saved us, we would still belong to Babylon.

And what is the ultimate objective of Babylon? To take us away from God and keep Him off our radar.

Babylon will throw anything our way to make us forget about God: it can be po*******hy, sports, wealth, fame, power, lusts and so on.

So we need to ask ourselves today, am I following Jesus or am I following Babylon?

In Revelation, John describes the picture of the city that God is building: new Jerusalem.

John describes this city as a pure, beautiful, faithful and prepared bride, ready to meet her groom, Christ.

And we can see a glimpse of this city in the church today.

But if the bride doesn't prepare herself for the groom, it shows that she has no interest.

And so it is with the church.

If we don't care how we live or what we think about today, it shows that we're not preparing for the Lord's coming and that we have no real interest in Him.
