We had a truly wonderful day on Sunday, 23rd August, coming together as a parish family to celebrate the Feast Day of St Dominic. It was heartwarming to see over 100 parishioners gathering to enjoy an afternoon filled with friendship, laughter and community spirit.
Our fantastic Social Committee put on a wonderful afternoon tea, with music, crafts and face painting to keep our younger members entertained and involved. A special thank you also goes to the Caritas pupils from Turnbull High School, who generously gave up their time to come along and assist with the event. Their enthusiasm and willingness to help were greatly appreciated.
Our Lottery Committee also held two months of lottery draws, along with the annual lottery draw, resulting in nine very lucky winners.
Above all, it was a beautiful opportunity for our parish family to come together, share in each other’s company and celebrate the special community we are so fortunate to have at St Dominic’s. It truly was a memorable day and a wonderful reflection of the warmth, generosity and spirit that make our parish so special.

WORLD YOUTH DAY, SEOUL 2027

The Youth Office will be leading a pilgrimage to World Youth Day in Seoul, South Korea.
This will be an exciting adventure during which young Catholics from across the world
gather to celebrate their faith and share in this incredible experience together with the
Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV! 19–35-year-olds | 31st July – 10th August 2027 | REGISTRATION

NATIONAL PILGRIMAGE TO WHITHORN: The annual National Pilgrimage to Whithorn will take place on Sunday 30th August. Mass will be celebrated by Bishop Frank Dougan on the beach near St Ninian’s Cave at 4 pm, and at the church in Whithorn at 4.45 pm for those unable to reach the shore. A well-established footpath about one mile long takes you through the glen to the shore, and to be in place for Mass at 4 pm it is recommended to begin the walk by 3 pm.
