🎶 WORSHIP NIGHT at St Anne’s 🙌

Our youth and young adults would love to invite you to join us for an evening of contemporary worship at St Anne’s Church.

📅 Thursday 3rd September
🕡 6:30–7:30pm

This is a relaxed, come-as-you-are evening with space simply to worship together. No need to dress up, no need to know what to expect, and no need to be a particular age - everyone is welcome.

We’ll be worshipping with contemporary songs from artists including Elevation Rhythm, Maverick City, Passion, and more.

🍕 Aged 11–18?
You’re also invited to come along from 5:30pm for pizza before the worship night! Please contact us beforehand if you’d like to join us for pizza, as we’ll need to arrange parental permission.

From 6:30pm, the worship night is open to all ages - just come along, find a seat (or don’t!), and worship with us.

🎒 Blessing of the backpacks
📍 St Anne’s Church
📅 Today, 11am

Join us for Sunday Gathering today in St Anne’s Church as we look forward to a new school year. Bring your school bag or another item related to the work you do either in or out of the home, and we will pray that you and your work are blessed over the coming year.

All are welcome. Sunday Gathering is a church service where people of all ages worship together. We all have something to bring to our church community no matter how old or young we are. We sing contemporary worship songs, listen to or watch a Bible reading and work out what it means for us, and learn how to pray together. We are a mix of people who have been Christians for many years and those who are new to faith or still considering what faith means. Whether you have doubts and questions, or feel confident in your faith - you are welcome.

For everyone receiving GCSE results today, we are praying for you. May you truly know that you are not your results, you are simply a person who has results. Those results are only a way of working out what you do next - they do not dictate your whole life (even if you get all 9s!). So, today, may you know the peace of God and the joy of the Lord. May your hard work have paid off. And, may you be surrounded by people who guide you wisely and sensitively towards your next steps. God is with you!

Father God, please be with those who are receiving results today and next week. Remind them that they are not defined by their grades but by your love for them. Comfort those who are disappointed. Delight with those who are overjoyed. And guide all in their next steps.
Amen 🙏🏻

Uniform Bank - Can you help?

We are running our Uniform Bank in St Anne's Church on Friday 7th August from 1-3pm and Saturday 8th August from 10-11am.

Last year, we clothed over 130 children, but we can only make this happen with help from our community. There are lots of ways that you can help.

You can share this post to help get the word out about Uniform Bank. This is a completely free, incredibly helpful way to support Uniform Bank.

You can donate good-condition, clean uniform by dropping it off at the following locations:

📍St Anne's Church on Thursdays 9:45-11:30am and Sundays 10:45-12:30
📍St Andrew's Church on Sundays 8:45-10:15
📍4 Conway Grove, DL14 6AF - leave it in the box on the doorstep at any time of day
📍193 Woodhouse Lane, DL14 6JT - leave it in the box by the garage at any time of day

You can donate money to buy packs of socks and pants for all school children, and shirts for secondary school children at https://givealittle.co/c/6X3BQS6oXRYS8DgSlTOTbv

If you are an adult (18+) you can help us set up Uniform Bank on Thursday 6th August. Volunteers will be asked to sort donated clothes by size. Please note that this job requires a significant amount of turning, bending and lifting. Just pop along to St Anne's Church between 11am and 3pm, and we will pair you up with a volunteer to work together.

Thank you so much to Year 4 St. Andrew's Academy and Nursery who donated new Underwear and Socks to the Bishop Auckland Parish Uniform bank as part of their community week. You are much appreciated.
The Uniform Bank is on 7th and 8th of August and is free to use and a great way of getting uniform for next year and saving the planet by reusing good second hand uniform rather than it being thrown away. Keep an eye on Facebook for how you can help and for opening times for the Uniform Bank
