Wear Valley Christian Centre Wear Valley Christian Centre is in the centre of Bishop Auckland, County Durham, and our main place of worship and base for all activities.

We are gradually reopening our church and services post Covid lockdown. Our current services/events are
Sunday Services:
Worship & Communion service 10:30am
includes Kids Church 11:45-12:30 (ages 4-11) This involves a time of prayer, bible teaching, activities and lots of fun. All children who are 4 – 11 years old are welcome. Other activities: Please contact us for details. Bible study

held over Zoom on alternative Wednesday evenings
Prayer meeting alternative Wednesday evening
Ladies meeting held on a Monday evening (Monthly) and Wednesday morning twice monthly
Mens Group held weekly on a Friday night

It’s been lovely having the primary children with us at the exhibition this week. We now move on to year 7s and look forward to visits by King James 1 Academy. We will be looking at the Bible, its impact, stories, Holocaust, slavery, various scrolls, coins, oil lamps and so much more. Also, what is a tear bottle and is it mentioned in the Bible ?

2027 will see 100 years of the church in Bishop Auckland. As part of our celebrations we would like to collect any special memories you have of the church. If you could send these to [email protected] or via messenger that would be great. Please add which decade you are referring to. Also we are looking for any photographs you may have, if so could you scan these and send them on. Please would you share / pass on the post, and perhaps forward to others you may know who are not on facebook.

Bible Times Exhibition week. From Monday 29th June we have a full week of schools attending, however we are able to open the exhibition up to the public on Wednesday 1st July 12-1pm.
Of special interest is a Torah Scroll rescued from Czechia, a memorial to those who lost their lives in the holocaust and the synagogues destroyed in that area.
