Coming from one of the most well known Psalms, this evokes imagery of peace and safety. God (the shepherd) is purposefully leading the writer of the Psalm to be calm and providing and environment where they can put their cares on Him and full trust in how He is looking after them. Like a shepherd who truly cares for their sheep, God recognises and secures our rest .

Every Sunday we remember Jesus’ death and the sacrifice he made for each of us. These words from Jesus also act as a reminder to us that he died for us and sacrificed himself and how breaking bread should be ‘done in remembrance of me’. By doing this and putting it into practise in our lives that it is not just a physical symbol on a Sunday morning but it’s a key part of a whole life given in discipleship with Jesus. 🍞

In this passage, the call to “walk in wisdom toward outsiders” reminds us that our lives are often read before our words are heard. Wisdom here isn’t about being cautious or guarded, it’s about being purposeful, gracious, and aware that our behaviour can either open doors or close them. Every encounter becomes an opportunity to reflect Christ’s character. 🕯️

The core message is that children are not an accident of life but a deliberate blessing. This is evidence of God’s ongoing care and investment in a family’s future. 👶🏼
