Sunday Service
As Jesus travelled through towns and villages, he saw the crowds and was filled with compassion. He saw people who were weary, struggling and burdened, and he did not look away.
Jesus never sanitised human experience. He met sickness, grief, loneliness and failure with compassion, and he meets us where we are, not where we think we ought to be. His grace restores rather than judges. Like broken pottery repaired with gold in the art of kintsugi, God's love makes our scars signs of hope.
As Refugee Week 2026 begins, with its theme of Courage, we are reminded that compassion itself is courageous. It takes courage to welcome, to accompany and to bring hope.
Jesus says that the harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few. His invitation is for ordinary people willing to say, "Lord, here I am."
As we begin another week, may we ask: And may we remember that before he sends us out, he first looks upon us with compassion.
The two other photos show how our Junior Church envision our new building. Their creativity and imagination remind us that the future of Carrs Lane is being shaped by the hopes and dreams of our youngest members.
