We had a brilliant Cafe Church at Deelands Hall today! We learned about Jesus walking on water, about his friend Peter's faith and we learned that in the original Greek text, the word we translate as 'faith' (pistis) can also be translated as 'trust'. We thought about the difference between believing something, and trusting someone - Jesus calls us to trust him, to trust his love, not just believe that he is the Son of God.

And then we made 'Jesus walks on water trifles', because, well, why not?

Why not come along next week? 4.30pm, every Sunday, Deelands Hall.

It's been a busy few weeks - so busy that we've forgotten to post photos!

Huge congratulations to the 12 people from St Chad's and 3 from Lickey & Blackwell Churches who were confirmed earlier this month, and huge thanks to Bishop Esther for leading the service on such a hot day!

Thanks also to the Stay and Play Team who finished the year with quite a lot of mess - they'll be back on Tuesday 8th September.

We were also delighted to host a visit from St Chad himself (well, performer David Titley!) during the Bromsgrove Festival and of course, our Sunday worship continues alongside everything else. This month saw us laying down our burdens by building a cairn on the altar and taking our Cafe Church on a trip out to The Greenhouse at Barnes Close.

All are always welcome - our Warm Welcome drop in continues through the summer (Wednesdays 12 - 2pm and Fridays 10am - 2pm) as do our services of Holy Communion (Tuesdays at 12pm, Sundays at 10am) and Café Church (every Sunday at 4.30pm at Deelands Hall). Come and say hello ...

Don't panic!

This event starts at 7pm and will finish at 9pm, so you have plenty of time to get home / to the pub for the 10pm kick off!!

(... just wondering what the crossover in audience might be between St Chad and football ...?!)

As part of our celebrations to mark St Chad's becoming a Grade II listed building, we are delighted to welcome expert in all things St Chad, David Titley, to St Chad's on 11th July. He'll be performing a one hour, one-man show before we break for refreshments (included in the ticket price) and then gather for a Q&A with David. Expect humour, fascinating facts and a really enjoyable evening! Tickets are £10 on the door.
(All money raised will go towards repairing the slate cladding on the side of our tower!)
