What a blessed and uplifting day of worship at Birmingham United Methodist Church as we celebrated Africa Day in beautiful style!

The ladies of BUMC looked elegant, radiant, and full of joy in their colourful African print attire, reminding us of the beauty and richness of our heritage. The church was filled with vibrant colours, warm fellowship, and grateful hearts.

I had the privilege of sharing a teaching from Nehemiah 7, reflecting on how God does not only rebuild the walls around us, but also rebuilds the people within us. We explored powerful lessons on leadership, security, identity, stewardship, and community. A restored wall means little without a restored people.

We were also blessed by a stirring sermon from Mr P. S. Zisengwe based on Ezekiel 37:1-14. He challenged us to look at the dry bone valleys in our own lives. Whether it is a valley of broken dreams, strained relationships, lost hope, spiritual dryness, or unanswered prayers, the same God who breathed life into dry bones is still speaking life today.

May we never forget that God specialises in restoration. What seems dead can live again. What appears impossible is an opportunity for God to reveal His power.

"Thus says the Lord God unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live." (Ezekiel 37:5)

To God be the glory for a wonderful day of worship, learning, fellowship, and celebration.

Today we were reminded that inheritance is not just land, money or a surname. It is faith, values, conviction and the spiritual foundation handed down from one generation to another.

During our Heritage Week Service, our beloved Pastor P Magomo taught from Deuteronomy 6:1-9, 1 Kings 21 v 1-15 and 2 Timothy 1:5 on the theme:

“Understanding our identity and valuing our inheritance.”

We were reminded of the importance of holding strongly to our Christian heritage and teaching the next generation the ways of God. As the United Methodist Church Zimbabwe UK District, we celebrate the rich spiritual heritage God has entrusted to us.

We were also honoured to celebrate the birthday of Pastor Magomo’s husband together as a church family. A beautiful moment of love, unity and thanksgiving. 🎉🙏🏾

May we never lose our identity, our faith and the inheritance that has been passed down to us.

“These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children…” – Deuteronomy 6:6-7
