IF JESUS PREACHED TODAY… WOULD PEOPLE SAY HE WAS CHANGING THE BIBLE?

Jesus was called Rabbi — Teacher.

But look carefully at how Jesus actually taught people.

He spoke about seeds and farming.

Fishing and nets.

Sheep and shepherds.

Money and debts.

Weddings.

Workers.

Vineyards.

Houses.

Jesus took eternal spiritual truths and communicated them through a world that the people standing in front of Him understood.

The truth didn't change.

And that's an important lesson for the Church today.

There is a major difference between:

CHANGING SCRIPTURE

and

EXPLAINING SCRIPTURE SO PEOPLE CAN UNDERSTAND AND APPLY IT.

We should never rewrite God's Word because society changes.

We should never redefine something God calls right or wrong simply because modern culture disagrees.

But neither should we assume that explaining an ancient biblical context and then applying its truth to today's world means we're compromising Scripture.

When Jesus was asked:

“Who is my neighbour?”

He gave what we now call the parable of the Good Samaritan.

He brought the command to love your neighbour into real life.

The truth didn't change.

The people were being shown what that truth actually looked like.

That's why when studying Scripture, we should ask:

What did God say?

What did it mean in its original context?

How does that same truth apply to us today?

The Bible was written in an ancient world…

but it wasn't written only for an ancient world.

Jesus said:

“Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.” — Matthew 24:35

So we don't change Scripture to accommodate the generation.

We correctly understand Scripture so we can teach the generation.

SAME WORD.

SAME TRUTH.

DIFFERENT GENERATION.

Do you think Christians sometimes confuse applying Scripture to today's world with changing Scripture?

I'd love to hear your thoughts below. 📖

DID JESUS GIVE YOU THAT BURDEN… OR DID PEOPLE?

Sometimes Christians are carrying enormous burdens that God never actually commanded them to carry.

In some cultures, there can be major financial expectations surrounding marriage.

In others, families can spend enormous amounts on funerals because they feel:

“This is what people expect us to do.”

There have also been cultural traditions surrounding dowries, family obligations and other practices passed down through generations.

But there's an important distinction:

Something being part of our culture doesn't automatically make it a commandment from God.

Jesus warned about allowing human traditions to take the place of God's commands.

That doesn't mean abandoning everything about our culture.

Keep what is beautiful.

Keep family.

Keep honour.

Keep language.

Keep food.

Keep celebrations.

Keep traditions that don't contradict God.

But when somebody tells you:

“You HAVE to do this…”

there's nothing wrong with asking:

“Where is that in the Bible?”

Because when culture says one thing and Christ says another:

CHRIST COMES FIRST.

Perhaps some of us need to examine burdens we've been carrying for years and ask:

“Did God actually ask me to carry this — or did people put this weight on me?”

I'd genuinely like to hear different perspectives:

What cultural traditions have you had to examine against your Christian faith?

Please keep the conversation respectful — cultures contain both beautiful traditions and practices that people may legitimately question.

THE POPE SAID IT… BUT DID JESUS?

Let me ask you a difficult question:

If the Pope says something and Jesus Christ says something different — WHO DO YOU FOLLOW?

Before anybody says:

“This is attacking Catholics!”

please watch the teaching first.

This isn't about saying every Catholic is going to hell.

And it certainly isn't saying every Protestant, Pentecostal or evangelical is automatically right.

The question is much bigger:

WHO HAS THE FINAL AUTHORITY OVER WHAT CHRISTIANS BELIEVE?

In this teaching we're examining:

Peter and the papacy.

Scripture and Sacred Tradition.

The Magisterium.

Mary and the saints.

Confession.

Infant baptism.

Indulgences.

Pope Francis and other religions.

Pope Leo XIV.

The spirit of Antichrist.

Religious deception.

And what Revelation actually says.

But we're also turning the same examination back onto Protestant Christianity.

Because a pastor can be wrong.

A prophet can be wrong.

A denomination can be wrong.

A Reverend can be wrong.

I can be wrong.

That's why Acts 17 tells us the Bereans examined Scripture to determine whether what Paul himself taught was true.

So don't blindly believe me either.

CHECK IT FOR YOURSELF.

Read the Bible.

Read the Catholic sources.

Examine the history.

Pray.

And ask God for discernment.

Because this isn't about Catholics versus Protestants.

It's about whether we're genuinely following Jesus Christ.

Jesus said:

“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” — John 14:6

So perhaps the biggest question isn't:

“What denomination are you?”

Perhaps it's:

“ARE YOU ACTUALLY FOLLOWING JESUS?”

Watch the full teaching.

Then come back and tell me what you think — respectfully and biblically.

And if you believe Christians need to examine what they've been taught, share this teaching.

Parents, this is a difficult question.

Are you working so hard to provide your children with everything you never had that you're hardly there to enjoy the childhood they have now?

Yes — provide for your family.

Work. Build. Take responsibility.

But providing isn't only financial.

Your children need your time, attention, guidance, conversations and presence.

And they need you to help them know God.

One day, the child asking:

“Dad, can you play with me?”

or

“Mum, can I talk to you?”

will be grown.

You cannot buy those years back.

And if you realise you've already missed things, don't remain trapped in guilt.

You cannot change yesterday. But you can change what you do from today.

📖 Proverbs 22:6

Your children don't necessarily need a perfect parent.

They need a parent who is present.

Share this with another parent who may need the reminder. ❤️

The abuse may have ended… but are you still living with what it did to you?

Maybe you were abused as a child.

Physically.

Emotionally.

Or sexually.

Perhaps it happened years ago, but you're still carrying the effects today.

Maybe you struggle to trust.

Maybe your confidence was damaged.

Maybe relationships are difficult.

Maybe certain memories, situations or words suddenly take you back.

And you've wondered:

“Why am I still affected by something that happened so long ago?”

What somebody did to you was wrong.

And Scripture doesn't ask us to pretend that evil was good.

Psalm 34:18 tells us:

“The LORD is close to the brokenhearted.”

God sees wounds that other people may never see.

And what somebody did to you does not determine your value.

Your identity isn't your trauma.

Your identity isn't what somebody did to your body.
