We love our language learning community Shenley Welcomes! The political climate means this last year our language group got praised and criticised in equal measure. That's okay! It's been good to reflect on why we do it.

At the start of a new year, here are three of the reasons we are 'all in' with this.

(Spoiler alert - no, it's not a leftie thing.
It's an integration thing. A Jesus thing. And a Shenley thing.)

36 local kids dancing, singing, storying, crafting and playing. One more day to go.

🍛🌯🥢😋 It was the end of year feast for our Shenley Welcomes language community today.

21 precious participants cooked & brought food and ate together.

These were from 15 countries.

Why do we give time and energy and heart to this week by week?

Because God so loved the world 🌍 So, as his church we try to as well. In a small, but meaningful way.

It’s also incredibly fun and the food is on point!

Hi local friends, or friendly onlookers.

We are half way way through our second year since launching our weekly church gatherings in Shenley!

Being part of a new, small, “blank sheet of paper” type church community is really exhilarating! AND, half way through year two, it’s common to notice things beginning to feel different. Newness turns to normality.

Thats normal and good and entirely expected…

…but definitely year two emotions and vibes are different to year one emotions and vibes.

God is doing wonderful things here, as we seek to become more established in our community, for our community, with our community.

Pray that God would keep us going as we enter summer and do more than we can ask or imagine!

And if you’re a friendly onlooker… come and get involved!

We have no interest in stealing committed believers from churches that they are blessing. But if you’re looking for a church or have been wondering about trying church, and you live locally, come give us a try.

Christianity is a woeful spectator sport. Worse than the Ghana England game!!!!

But it’s absolutely life changing once youre playing the game.
