Shree Hindu Community Centre / Shree Laxmi Narayan Mandir

Shree Hindu Community Centre / Shree Laxmi Narayan Mandir Shree Hindu Community Centre (SHCC) was founded in 1979 when the presence of Birmingham's Hindu Community had started to take root.

Shree Hindu Community Centre is an independent community organisation providing services to the Hindu community in Birmingham and the residents in the local wards. The property was an old church in poor condition requiring significant improvement and injection of funds. It took a further ten years and a persistent effort by the founding leaders with the help of the community to reach a stage for a

Murthi Pran Pratishtha to take place in 1989 and for Shree Laxmi Narayan Mandir to become a fully functioning part of the SHCC.

Namaste everyone!

We have Adhik Mahino starting this Sunday 17th May which comes in our Hindu calendar every 3 years and is dedicated to Vishnu Bhagvan!

This year, it is Adhik Jeth (Jyeshta) Mahino and is very auspicious!

It is believed that doing Puja to Vishnu Bhagvan and Mahalaxmi Maa during this month brings us a special kind of peace and prosperity so make sure to come along to the Mandir and take Darshan as much as you can!

Please join us on Monday 15th June 2025 for our Amas Puja on the last day of Adhik Mahino this year - and the fact that it also falls on a Monday is also very significant!

Please see the poster for more details and Puja timings, and to reserve your place call the Mandir on 0121 707 3154, or one of the numbers on the poster

Jai Siya Ram!

We hope that everyone had a lovely Ram Navmi! On the 9th day of the auspicious Chaitra Navratri, Vishnu Bhagvan took birth as Shree Ram in Ayodhya. Together with his wife Sita, they teach us the importance of maintaining Dharma and are considered to be an ideal couple as Avtars of Laxmi Narayan

Interestingly, Narayan and Shakti Devi are considered to be siblings, and a lot of their Avtars appear on the same day of the Hindu Calendar. The 9th day of Chaitra Navratri is also Parvati Jayanti - the day Parvati Maa appeared in the world as the daughter of the mountains πŸ•‰πŸ•‰πŸ•‰
