Shree Hindu Community Centre (SHCC) was founded in 1979 when the presence of Birmingham's Hindu Community had started to take root.

Shree Hindu Community Centre is an independent community organisation providing services to the Hindu community in Birmingham and the residents in the local wards. The property was an old church in poor condition requiring significant improvement and injection of funds. It took a further ten years and a persistent effort by the founding leaders with the help of the community to reach a stage for a

Murthi Pran Pratishtha to take place in 1989 and for Shree Laxmi Narayan Mandir to become a fully functioning part of the SHCC.

Eclipses During August 2026

Jai Shree Krishna 🙏🏼

There is a Surya Grahan (solar eclipse) on Wednesday 12th August 2026 - Mandir will be closed to the public all day

There is a Chandra Grahan (lunar eclipse) early morning on Friday 28th August 2026 - Mandir will be open as normal on thus day (9am-1pm, 5pm-7pm), but will remain closed to the public in the evening of Thursday 27th August (Sutak starts 4.38pm on 27th, ends 6.16am on 28th)

All normal activities and Darshan timings will resume on the days after the eclipses occur

Please join our Mandir's Yuva Vani as we collaborate with the Hindu Climate Action and Ahimsa Farm on our Gaushala Visit & Nature Walk as we visit the cows and do Sewa, enjoy live Kirtan by Jagannath Das, and go on a scenic walk along the canal - entry is free and lunch is provided (kindly donated by Milan Sweet Centre)
