St Stephen's & St Wulstan's Church, Selly Park

St Stephen's & St Wulstan's Church, Selly Park We are ordinary people who know Someone extraordinary! Join us online to find out more: www.sssw.org.uk. But we know Someone extraordinary – Jesus Christ.

We are ordinary people, with a mix of ages and from a range of backgrounds. We have found that he never lets us down and yet, when we let him down, he forgives us. So we want everything we do as a church to be centred on honouring Jesus. The Bible is crucial to this, as it is there that we encounter him. We meet on Sundays at 10am at St Stephen's or at 6.30pm at St Wulstan's. You would be most wel

come at any of our services on a Sunday, whether you know Jesus already or are simply interested in finding out more. We have two buildings, St Stephen's and St Wulstan's, both in the Selly Park/Selly Oak student area near the University of Birmingham. We belong to the Church of England.

We meet every Sunday at 10am and 6pm. Full details on our website (www.sssw.org.uk). We'd love to see you!

Thought for the week - 150 years

This week we celebrated 150 years since St Stephen’s Church was opened. We enjoyed a barbecue, we sang ‘Happy Birthday’ and we shared a birthday cake which featured a model of the church. And we sang the hymn Great is Thy Faithfulness......

We invite you to celebrate with us. Our celebrations are planned mainly for 29th August to 5th September and there are lots of ways you can get involved.

#10 150 years of Selly Park: a photo exhibition of people and their stories
Find out more about Gill and Keith's story this week!

We joined St Stephen’s in 1967 having moved to Birmingham from Shropshire with work. We moved away from Birmingham in 1990 so spent 24 very happy years at the church. We have fond memories of the church during this period, a time of growth and blessings. Pathfinder and CYFA groups started, the Church Centre on the Pershore Rd became a hive of activity with Pathfinder games nights (including mad 20 a side football) and then the start of services on a Sunday. St Wulstan’s became part of the parish bringing new opportunities. We were privileged to start Ichthys, a student group that met in our home in Willow Road......(You can read the whole story here: https://www.sssw.org.uk/gill-and-keith-croxton/) - Link in BIO

#9 150 years of Selly Park: a photo exhibition of people and their stories
Find out more about N’dri's story this week!

I came to Birmingham to complete my BSc in Geology at University of Birmingham.....St Stephen’s has been an important part for me being at university. I often tell people that I would gladly live and work in Birmingham just to be part of the church family. Two things that have deeply impacted my life from St Stephen’s are the Bible teaching and the love that I have experienced being part of the church family......
