In a wonderful meeting on Sunday we also welcomed new life to our church family as Craig and Gina gave baby Ezra back to God in a Salvation Army Dedication ceremony.
Corps Leader Major Keely Standley challenged Gina and Craig as they raise Ezra, to keep him from anything that may harm him and to introduce the teachings of Jesus. She then took Ezra and wrapped the flag around him and blessed him, then prayed and gave him back to his parents assuring them that the whole church family will also be praying for and supporting Ezra and the whole family as he grows up.

What a privilege it was to be at Birmingham Citadel on Sunday, witnessing the enrolment of Jonathan as a Senior Soldier (adult member) and, (still to come), the dedication of baby Ezra.

Jonathan has grown up in the corps and worships alongside his Mum, Dad and brother, and his grandparents.
Corps Leader Major Ian Standley lead the enrolment, asking the congregation to read the Doctrines together before accepting Jonathan's affirmation. Then Recruiting Sergeant Helen prayed with Jonathan at The Mercy Seat while he signed his Articles of War.
Jonathan then gave his testimony, thanking all those who have had an influence on his life and christian journey so far. Music forms a huge part of his life and he often feels God's presence in the music he plays, as well as showing it in his daily life.

Please welcome Jonathan as the newest Soldier at Birmingham Citadel.

it's the first Sunday of the month, so it's Birthday Box Sunday. We always have a full hall on the first Sunday. It's great to see, but hmmmmm......

Please pray for the family of the man who has died today and for those injured.

We also pray for members of our church who were at The Big Church Festival and for their safe return home.

Special mention to Salvation Army corps in the area who are taking people in to sleep overnight before they drive home tomorrow.
