*DRAW NEAR TO GOD*

*TODAY’S SCRIPTURE*
JAMES‬ ‭4‬:‭7‬-‭8‬, ‭10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
”Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.“
‭‭
*TODAY’S WORD*
What in my life would stop me from coming to Christ? What am I placing above Him that is hindering me to fully and uncontrollably run after God? And what do I need to release so that I can devote everything in me to Him? Personally, my pride and sinful heart has caused me to not bring honour to God countless times! So brothers and sisters, what is stopping you from drawing near to God?

Here, in the Scripture above, James is directing us on how we must act towards our Father God. The heart that has rebelled must be brought to the foot of God. We must continually humble ourselves, posturing our hearts differently, so that we can approach Him reverently. Do not let the sin you are holding on to, so tightly, keep you from coming to God.

Draw near to God, humble yourself before Him as you cleanse your hands, and your hearts. Put to death the things that are stopping you from coming to God, whether that be the opinions of others, pride, or whatever sin you are grasping onto. Your fears, and sin should not stop you from drawing near.

You are in danger if you are putting God off for another time. Tomorrow is not promised for you. Now is the time to get your life right and seek God with all your heart while He may be found.

*PRAYER FOR TODAY*
Father God, I thank You that You desire to spend time with me. Your Word says if I draw near to You, You will draw near to me—and I want to be near to You. So, right now, I ask that You cause me to desire to draw near to You above everything else. Help me to have supernatural time-management abilities, help me to see clearly when I can set aside time to spend with You, and help me never to compromise that time in Jesus mighty name. Amen.

You Already Have God’s Acceptance
By Rick Warren

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light” (1 Peter 2:9 NIV).

Most of us spend our entire lives trying to earn acceptance. We want to earn it from our parents, peers, partners in life, people we respect, and even people we envy. The desire to be accepted drives us to do all kinds of things. It can influence the kind of clothes you wear, the kind of car you drive, the kind of house you buy, even the career you choose.

Would you agree that people do the craziest things to be accepted? As a kid you wanted so badly to be in the in-crowd that someone would say to you, “I dare you to do this,” and you’d do something stupid. You did it because your desire to be accepted overruled the desire for personal safety in your life. When you played baseball as a kid and teams were chosen, remember how great it felt to be picked by the best player? Remember how bad you felt when they got down to the last two or three and you still weren’t chosen?

We love the feeling of being accepted.

Being chosen does tremendous things for your self-esteem. The Bible says in 1 Peter 2:9, “You are a chosen people” (NIV). That ought to raise your self-esteem! Christ has accepted you — not based on your performance, something that you earned, or something that you deserve. God simply says, “I chose you.”

You may have accepted Jesus into your life, but have you ever realized that Christ has accepted you? You don’t have to earn it; you don’t have to prove yourself.

“Even if my father and mother abandon me, the LORD will take care of me” (Psalm 27:10 GW). The fact is, some of you had parents whom you could never please. No matter what you did, it wasn’t good enough. If you got Cs, they wanted Bs. If you got Bs, they wanted As. If you got As, they wanted straight As.

The tragedy is that some of you today are still trying to prove yourself to your parents. You’re still trying to earn their acceptance, but in all likelihood, you’re not going to get their approval if they haven’t given it to you by now, because that’s their problem. The good news is this: You don’t need it to be happy! There are 6 billion people in the world. If two people don’t like you, who cares? As a part of God’s family, you have been accepted by God

The quality of 2024 will be determined by the decisions you are making today; the decisions that you are making right now.

Whatever decisions you take will affect you throughout this year.
Let us take time to consider not only our physical growth and plans but also our spiritual growth and set goals on how we can achieve them.

Perhaps you need to make a vision board or a target checklist and work through the goals you have set for yourself.

Whatever plans / goals you have set for yourselves WORK HARD towards your goals and I'm sure you will achieve them.

P.s we're already in our second week in January 2 more weeks and January will be leading into February. We can achieve so much if we set our minds to it

Don't procrastinate or else you will fall behind. God bless you all 🙂

LIFE-GIVING WORDS

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
PROVERBS 15:4, NIV
“The soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.”

TODAY’S WORD
Many people have wounds from the past, wounds from people saying hurtful, judgmental words about them. You and I have something to offer them. Our words can help heal the hurts and break the chains that are holding them back. Our words have the power to lift people up, to help them get through a challenge, to push them toward their destiny.

When you tell someone, “I love you,” you are not just being kind; those are healing words. It might be just a simple word of encouragement or a compliment, such as “I’m praying for you” or “You look great today.” It is no big deal to you, but to them it helps heal a wound. It lifts their spirits, causing them to believe in themselves. Just letting people know that you care does more than you imagine. You have the power to put someone on their feet, to keep them from falling into depression, to cause them to pursue their dream.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
“Father, thank You that You have given me the power of words to lift others up. All through the day, help me to speak kind words, offer compliments, give encouragement, and lift up those around me. I believe that as I lift others, You will lift me in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
