Servant heart comes from a place of knowing who the Father is. When we look at the very first miracle Jesus carried out at a wedding in Cana it was the faithful ‘servants’ that obeyed the words of Jesus not knowing that as they carried the water it was being transformed into wine. He used the servants that were willing to obey his words even though at that moment they could not comprehend what Jesus was about to do. Although the command was a little gesture that seems like a little thing in today’s day and age in the eyes of Jesus and the people a miracle was about to take place and it was the very servants that witnessed the first miracle with their own eyes. “He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew.” (John 2: 9)
A dedicated, devoted and a loyal heart is key to a servant heart, they tend to do every little/big thing with all their hearts. It does not matter what size it looks like a faithful heart does not dictate the size of the task or the deed. It is the little things that we do that sets us off for the greater that is ahead of us. Many of us long to be in a great position, gain status, enormous staged opportunities, larger churches, big venues it’s a race to get to a big place. However God has got a field open for those with a SERVANT heart and humility rather than a LEADER heart. Jesus the king of all kings was the master of servant hood “began to wash his disciples’ feet” (John 13: 4)
I want to encourage you to keep serving in the little whether that means you are doing tasks in the public eye that has been overlooked, cleaning, washing or even serving or filling up the jars with water (John 2:7), The eyes of the Lord is fixated on those that are faithful in the little it is then that he supernaturally converts it into the larger tasks, larger things, larger miracles just like when the servant’s obeyed with the heart to serve he turned the WATER into WINE. You may be serving on the little things or you may have given up on the little things but GOD is about to give you the key and the authority to those doors and places you once stayed faithful in. It is to those that is humble with humility to serve in doing the little with all their hearts (1 Corinthians 16:14) that end up doing the most for his Kingdom.
