As communities across our region face the impact of devastating fires, the Bishops of Birmingham and Aston pray for all affected.

“We are deeply saddened by the fires that have affected communities across Birmingham and the wider West Midlands region.

“We hold in our prayers those who have seen their homes damaged or destroyed, those who have been evacuated, and all who are frightened by the fires and smoke.

“We give thanks for the emergency services who are working tirelessly to keep people safe, and for the neighbours and communities who are looking out for one another.

“In times like this, we are reminded how much we depend on one another. Our prayer is that those who are frightened or grieving will know the strength and kindness of those around them.”

Yesterday we had a joyous day as we joined other churches in the afternoon at the churchwarden's admission service. Our very own Norman was formally installed in the office of churchwarden.

"May your stave be to you a sign of the office and ministry you share with the Bishop and a symbol of your reliance on the strength and grace of God in all things."
