Pray for the UK… and every country where there’s conflict at the moment 🙏

A prayer for today

Holy God, your kingdom come.

Around the world and in our own cities, towns, streets and homes right now, conflict, anger, discouragement and fear are fueling responses of hate, blame, racism and violence.

We pray for unity among people. We pour out our despair before you at the state of things and we cry out to you for peace.

We lift up those who are grieving. Those who are afraid. Those who have been injured. Those who have lost possessions and a sense of safety.

We ask you, Lord, for protection for all people and that the destruction will end.

And we pray that the church will be at the centre of restoration. We ask that, in every community, the local church will be a place that brings healing, that provides shelter and where your voice is heard in gentle power – your voice that calls to us to love our neighbour, to prefer one another. Your voice that calls us to patience, to kindness and to hope. We pray that you equip the church to bring support in the most practical ways.

We pray for wisdom for leaders at every level, and we pray for a way forward that rebuilds relationships and brings long-lasting solutions.

In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
