As communities across our region face the impact of devastating fires, the Bishops of Birmingham and Aston pray for all affected.

“We are deeply saddened by the fires that have affected communities across Birmingham and the wider West Midlands region.

“We hold in our prayers those who have seen their homes damaged or destroyed, those who have been evacuated, and all who are frightened by the fires and smoke.

“We give thanks for the emergency services who are working tirelessly to keep people safe, and for the neighbours and communities who are looking out for one another.

“In times like this, we are reminded how much we depend on one another. Our prayer is that those who are frightened or grieving will know the strength and kindness of those around them.”

This Sunday we celebrate the Feast of St James the Apostle.
Join us as we give thanks for his life, faith, and witness.
Our services:
• 8am Eucharist — St James
• 9am Morning Worship — St John’s
• 10:30am Worship 4 Everyone — St James
After the 10:30am service we’ll gather in the Church Hall for food and fellowship — everyone is welcome.

Messy Church at St James Shirley.
Come and join us on 18th July at 10am!
Our theme will be……………………… The Saints
We will be talking about different Saints and our activities will include making keys (St Peter), snakes (St Patrick), fishing boats (many of the first disciples were fishermen). Both St James and St John were referred to as the sons of thunder so we will be making thunder bottles! Also junk modelling a big Church (many Cathedrals and Monasteries were built by Saints).
We will be having a pilgrimage around the graveyard and making pilgrim badges.
Our prayer activity will be linked to St Christopher and we will write our prayers on anchors.
There will be drinks, toast and the joyful celebration at the end.

The next Worship for Everyone will be 10:30am Sunday 23rd August.
Also, planning ahead, please make a note on your Calendar, the following Messy Church will be 10am Saturday 15th August – but at St John’s Church, Tidbury Green (more information will follow!)
