*Prepare for Qurbani – The Sunnah of Ibrahim (AS)*

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,

As we approach the blessed month of Dhul Hijjah — expected to begin this Sunday/monday In sha Allah — let us prepare ourselves for the sacred act of Qurbani (Udhiya), the beautiful Sunnah of Prophet Ibrahim (AS).

Allah says in the Qur’an:

“So pray to your Lord and sacrifice [to Him alone].”
(Surah Al-Kawthar 108:2)

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:

“The son of Adam does not do any action on the Day of Sacrifice more beloved to Allah than shedding blood (of the sacrificial animal).”
(Tirmidhi)

Qurbani is not merely a ritual — it is a symbol of submission, gratitude, and devotion to Allah, following the legacy of Ibrahim (AS) and Ismail (AS).

A gentle reminder for those intending to offer Qurbani:
Once Dhul Hijjah begins, it is Sunnah to refrain from cutting hair and nails until the sacrifice is completed.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“When the ten days (of Dhul Hijjah) begin and one of you intends to offer a sacrifice, let him not remove anything from his hair or nails until he has offered the sacrifice.”
(Sahih Muslim)

Please prepare early, book your Qurbani in advance, and remember the poor and needy in your duas and charity.

May Allah accept our عبادات, sacrifices, and duas. Ameen.

🕌 SULTAN BAHU CENTRE – COMMUNITY APPEAL

*Masjid & Community Project – Phase 2

Alhamdulillah, with the support of the community we have successfully completed Phase 1 of our Masjid and Community Centre project.

We are now raising funds for Phase 2, which will help complete the development and allow the Masjid and centre to better serve our growing community.

💷 Estimated Cost for Phase 2:
£500,000

*As we enter the last Ashra (last 10 days) of Ramadan, these are the most blessed nights of the entire year. Within these nights is Laylatul Qadr (The Night of Power), which is better than a thousand months. Any charity given during these nights carries immense reward.*

The Prophet ﷺ encouraged us to seek Laylatul Qadr in the odd nights of the last 10 days. Supporting the building of a Masjid during these blessed nights is a form of Sadaqah Jariyah (continuous charity) that will reward you for generations to come.
