Nine in ten Christian CEOs say they're more motivated by impact than profit. Only half say their faith actually drives how they lead day to day.

That gap is worth sitting with. Barna surveyed over 350 US CEOs earlier this year and found something a lot of us have felt but rarely said out loud: most faith-driven leaders want their leadership to mean something beyond the numbers, but far fewer have actually let their faith shape the ordinary Tuesday decisions.

It's not usually a crisis of belief. It's more often a crisis of translation. Believing something on Sunday and knowing how to let it steer a Tuesday afternoon decision are two completely different skills, and almost nobody teaches the second one.

That's most of what this work actually is. Not convincing leaders that faith matters, they already know that. Helping them translate it into the decisions nobody else sees.

Prayer: Lord, help me remain in You, so I can bear real fruit.

Why do most Christian leaders say integrity matters most, but almost none say passion for God does?

Barna once asked a large group of Christians what a leader needs most. Sixty four percent said integrity. Only thirty one percent said passion for God. Humility landed at seven percent. Purpose came in at five percent.

Read that again. The trait most of us practise daily, staying honest, keeping our word, ranked far above the trait that's supposed to be underneath everything else.

I don't think that means Christians don't care about passion for God. I think it means most of us have learned to lead with the fruit and quietly separate it from the root.

Integrity is easier to point to in a meeting. Passion for God is harder to justify on a performance review.

But fruit without root eventually gets tired. You can hold integrity together through sheer discipline for a while. Long term, it's usually the root that keeps the fruit growing.

Which one have you been leading from more this year, the fruit or the root?

πŸ’ Today's devotion: Respect isn't about agreement, it's about honouring the authority God has placed over us, even the imperfect ones.

Prayer: Lord, give me a heart of respect that reflects my love for Your authority.
