Today it is the Nativity of , celebrated in both eastern and western churches. We give hearty thanks for the faith of Mary by her parents Anne and Joachim. We are encouraged to follow her example as in her song, the as found in Luke 1:46–55.

Heritage weekend - 12th and 13th September.
Help needed

The church will be open from 10.00 - 4.00 as part of Birmingham Heritage week. We will be serving refreshments on both days and need volunteers. If you are able to help for an hour or two please contact the office.

Sermons in September are focusing on our Parish Vision Statement, discussing its key pillars and what they mean for us. Each week will take a different piece of the statement:

6th September: A welcoming church

13th September: A church at the heart of Moseley

20th September: A church rooted in prayer

27th September: A church inspired by God's love

Come along to Choral Evensong tomorrow (Sunday 6th September) at St Mary’s Moseley celebrating our Patronal Festival.

Service starts at 6:30pm and will be followed by celebratory refreshments!

This Sundays Choral Evensong music has largely been written especially for us by David Pitches, much of it being sung for the first time. It is his musical offering for our Patronal Festival.

In Choral Evensong, we notice that the choir does almost all of the singing, while we join them in the hymns.

The choir is not performing a concert for us. Instead, they are offering a sacrifice of praise on behalf of everyone present. They carry the words of the psalms and prayers skyward, lifting our unspoken longings directly to God.

In our busy lives, we are constantly asked to speak and produce. Choral Evensong invites us to rest. Our silence is a deep, active form of prayerful listening. As the music fills the church, we are invited to let the words wash over us and make the choir's voice our own prayer.

8.00am - Holy Communion at St Mary's
10.00am - Parish Eucharist for the Patronal Festival of the Blessed Virgin Mary at St Mary's
6.30pm - Choral Evensong at St Mary's

Please note there will be no 11.00am service at St Anne's.

Parish Breakfast will follow the 8.00am service.

A bring and share lunch will follow the 10am service at St Mary's.
