Reflected Light

Reflected Light Bringing the light and life of Jesus to those in darkness. As a ministry, we are passionate about bringing healing, wholeness and freedom in Christ to all.

Jesus’ ministry flowed out of the prophecy given in Isaiah 61 and we are called to continue the works that He did (John 14:12). We believe that by bringing the light of Christ into the darkness and creating an atmosphere in which God can move and speak, people can be released from what holds them captive and be equipped to reach out to others. We long to give people the tools and understanding the

y need to live a life in the Spirit, bringing personal transformation which overflows to those around them. Equipping Churches and Individuals
We offer face-to-face group sessions which include worship, teaching and a time of ministry to release churches and individuals into the fullness of life which Christ offers. We cover topics such as Spiritual gifts, intimacy with Jesus, hearing from God and supernatural power which are grounded in Scripture and applicable to everyday life as a follower of Jesus. Encourage personal devotion and growth
We believe the gifts of the Spirit are for all and encourage individuals to learn how to live in the Spirit through a combination of teaching, activation exercises and prayer. This will be covered in our face-to-face sessions as well as through our social media platforms and blog. Prophetic Ministry
Prophecy is at the heart of our ministry and we believe and teach that God speaks to His people, through His people, in accordance with 1 Corinthians 14:31: ‘For you can all prophesy in turn so that everyone may be instructed and encouraged.’ We believe that through prophecy, ‘Those with open hearts are given insight into [His] plans’ (Psalm 119:130 The Passion Translation) and it is an essential tool for helping people to live in the fullness of life which Christ offers. Reflected light was established by Amy Blount and Helen Pollard who live in the West Midlands with their families. The name Reflected Light refers to both God’s light shining through us (see Moses in Exodus 34:29-35 and 2 Corinthians 3:18) but also to us walking alongside those who are suffering and reflecting God’s light onto them in the darkest places.

There’s a spider in my closet. We have a cupboard for coats just beside the front door, and a spider has taken residence in the top of it. And it’s still there. I see it when I get something out of…

Prophets are not easy (I know this very well!) but they are essential in the body!

PROPHETS are often dancing to music others can’t yet hear.

When the Divine tunes of the future touch their hearts, their feet tap, their hearts lift, their beings move…

- but if you can’t hear the music yet…

…they seem like mad men, crazy thinkers, troublers, rebels, mystics and misfits.

I guess that’s why some called Elijah the Troubler of Israel! Prophets are status-quo quakers, wineskin shifters, future announcers and mountain dwellers (they want to see FAR!). They so easily disconnect from the past and even the present in favor of the future, and that makes others uncomfortable.

Their methods are not always kindly teaching, pastoral therapy, evangelistic fervor or even apostolic plans…Prophets precede all the others in seeing… but their ways are often first felt as frustration, righteous rebellion, uncomfortable questions, deep longings and holy plumb-lines.

They speak not in tidy teachings, but in metaphors, parables, stories, creativity and fervor. The seek not to deliver information, but rather to deliver you! To move you, by touching your heart in sorrow, joy, excitement, irritation, frustration, longing and love.

Pharisees will hate them because they see without any sunk-cost bias. They are not out to protect the present. They care little for bad-religion. They tread on toes, turn over tables, call out our hypocrisies and prefer the wilderness with GOD, to the crowded plains of mediocrity with mere religion.

And all that makes them HARD TO HANDLE!

But CHURCH - YOU NEED THE PROPHETS (just like you need all other leader-gifts). “Don’t despise prophecy. Trust in His prophets (test them too so you can!) and you will prosper. For the Lord does nothing without telling His prophets.”

1 Thessalonians 5:20-21, 2 Chronicles 2:20, Amos 3:7

Hey everyone. We long to see people equipped for living a life in the Spirit and walking in wholeness and we are so excited for what is coming up (watch this space for more news soon!). But in order to do that, I (Amy) have realised how much I need a laptop that works and does what I need it to and so I am looking to raise £600 to cover the cost of a good laptop which will last me.

Please pray and if you are able to give, you can do so via my stewardship account on this link. It will also allow for Gift aid if you currently pay tax and every little bit will help. Thank you so much.

I work alongside Helen Pollard in a prophetic healing ministry called Reflected Light.

We love equipping people to grow deeper in relationship with God. One way that this can happen is through God's words spoken through the prophets. Amy has an amazing ministry which not only covers our work here with Reflected light, but also of speaking God's word to His people and bringing them and the wider church in step with Him. Do check out her new page which will be dedicated to her ministry in this area.

Now is the time for open hands!

I heard the Lord say that there have been many people who have felt a shaking and gone through a time where they have had no choice but to lay down much of what they were holding. This time has not been easy and has often allowed confusion to come into the mind. Many have questioned what they should do and others keep praying for this period of unrest to cease. But the Lord is saying that for many, the shaking has come from Him because it is only with empty hands, can you pick up the new things He has for you.

If there are things in your life that are not making sense, or you are struggling to do all that is being required of you in this time, stop and ask God to show you what things you must lay down and then listen to His reply. Right now, he has an abundance of things He wants to give you, but your arms must be ready to receive them. It is a season of change and we can choose to move with God, or continue to burn ourselves out resisting Him. What will you choose?

A new blog post from Reflected Light:
https://reflectedlight.org/2022/05/13/jesus-in-the-ordinary/

Here's the post in full in case you're not someone who clicks on links 🤣

The other day my five-year-old asked me what my favourite bird was. In the past I’d have said something really pretentious like a Golden Oriole. But after thinking a while I decided my favourite bird is a robin. I was really quite surprised at my own answer – why something so common and ordinary? What has changed within me that has led to this choice?

A few months ago, I was listening to a podcast from Wild at Heart. They had a guest in who was sharing about stories of Jesus encounters in her life. She talked about how over the years Jesus had cultivated a personal love language with her in order to remind her of his presence during the day. I can’t remember what her language was exactly – something to do with flowers or rainbows. In response to the podcast, I decided to ask Jesus to do something similar for me, and as the days and weeks have gone by since I asked him, I realise that he has constantly drawn my attention to birds and birdsong.

There’s a little wilderness – a path running alongside a graveyard we call ‘the bumpy path’ – on the way to and from school. I often notice the birds while my son and I ride our bikes, and when I can I leave slightly early to collect him so I can push my bike and walk slowly through this section. As I do so I can breathe deeply and receive peace from God before the crazy play-cook-eat-bath-bedtime routine begins. And I regularly encounter robins.

I love the friendliness of them – they aren’t afraid to come close, and fly away that fraction later than other birds do, which allows me to enjoy them for longer. I love their red breast too – they aren’t just shades of brown, but there is something defiant and exuberant about them. Their song is also a delight, with such variety and tunefulness. I read somewhere that they sing to announce and protect their territory, which reminds me of that famous verse from Zephaniah 3:
17 The Lord your God is with you,
the Mighty Warrior who saves.
He will take great delight in you;
in his love he will no longer rebuke you,
but will rejoice over you with singing.”

I decided to ask Jesus what He loves about robins. I was journaling in the garden at this point and put pen to paper. He said this:
They are my fearless worshippers. They extend my kingdom with their territorial song. The red over their chest speaks of my blood which covers and shields the hearts of all who love me. They are quick to trust and in doing so reap the reward of all I have to give.

I often wonder whether I have made something up or really heard from Him, but in a finishing flourish a robin suddenly appeared in the garden, beautifully framed by a gap in the hedge. Jesus, thank you.

Activation
Jesus, thank you for your love. Thank you that you know each one of us intimately, and you know what connects with us on the deepest level. Would you cultivate a love-language with me that helps me recognise your presence and learn the depths of your love? Amen.

I recently came across this photo (source unknown) and it really spoke to me. There is such beauty and grace in it, yet power too. And so it is for those who follow Christ. In Him we have all of His power and authority, yet all of His love, gentleness and compassion too. The Holy Spirit is both a dove and fire. So today as you go about your day, ask the Spirit to show you when and where you need to be gentle and soft and where you need to be rooted in your authority and command power.
Have a great day!
