When I look back at my GCSE journey, one thing I can honestly say is that God was with me throughout the entire process.
I was revising every single day, sometimes for around 5โ7 hours. I put in the work, but despite all of that, there were still moments where I doubted myself. There were times when I wondered whether all the revision would actually pay off and whether I would get the results I was hoping for.
But throughout that season, there was one verse that I held onto: Psalm 1:3.
It says that the person who delights in the Lord is โlike a tree planted by streams of water, that yields its fruit in season, and its leaf does not
wither. In all that he does, he prospers.โ
That verse reminded me that I needed to stay planted in God, even when I couldnโt see the outcome yet. A tree doesnโt produce fruit immediately after being planted. There is a process of growing, waiting and trusting.
And thatโs what GCSEs felt like for me.
I knew I had to do my part. I revised, I worked hard and I prepared as much as I could. But there came a point where I had to surrender the outcome to God and trust Him with what I couldnโt control.
There was doubt, but I chose to believe Godโs Word over my doubts.
Then came results day.
When I opened my results, they were even better than what I had expected. I remember looking at them and thinking, โGod, You really did this.โ
It wasnโt just about receiving good grades. It was seeing the fruit of a season where I had worked hard, prayed, doubted, trusted and ultimately surrendered the outcome to God.
My testimony isnโt simply that I got the results I wanted. Itโs that God sustained me when I doubted myself, gave me strength when I was tired, and showed me that He is faithful even when I canโt see what Heโs doing.
Psalm 1:3 became real to me. I planted, I worked and I remained faithful โ but God was the One I trusted for the fruit. And the fruit was greater than I had expected.
So if thereโs someone here who is currently in a season where you canโt see the results of your prayers, I want to encourage you: stay planted. Keep trusting God. Keep doing your part. Donโt give up simply because you canโt see the fruit yet.
Because God is faithful, and in His season, the fruit will come.
