Medieval wall paintings were discovered on the north wall during preparations for internal redecoration in 2004; the consecration cross on the west wall was restored in Novemb

er 2005. The inner doors at the main entrance, leading from the south porch into the south aisle, were a memorial gift from the late Mr Roger Hawken of High Street, in memory of his wife Eveline. They are made of English oak with glass panels etched with the cross of St Andrew and the St Albans Diocesan coat of arms; they were dedicated on 21 May 2006. WHERE WE ARE: Please note that Langford is about 2 miles south of Biggleswade, but facebook doesn't allow us to specify Langford as a place, which is why our address info shows as Biggleswade: please accept our apologies for any confusion caused and address any complaints to facebook's admin people.

Thank you to everyone who has started making poppies!
To clear a few queries up:
1. They can be made out of any shade of red acrylic wool
2. They can be any size
3. You can use any knitting or crochet patterns
4. Please sew in the two black strands of wool but don’t cut them off as these will be used to tie onto the netting
5. When you want to drop off any poppies to the church please count them, place in a bag and write on the bag the amount
6. We would appreciate you using your own wool, however we may be able to provide wool later in the project if local funding is sourced (reasonably priced acrylic wool can be purchased at the garden centre, Buttons haberdashery and Hobbycraft)

We are in the early stages of this project and so there are a few teething problems but we will get there. Thank you 🌺

Create and Connect!

Hi, I am hoping to start the following group on Wednesday 8th April! If you’re interested please indicate in the comments below so that I can liaise with the Church Committee on how many tables and chairs etc we will require. I look forward to welcoming a friendly community who share a creative hobby. Or just call in, have a chat and see what we are all individually creating 🤷‍♀️! 🎨🧶🧵🪡✍🏻✂️🖍️✏️🖌️🫟👩‍🎨👨‍🎨

Mothering Sunday - did you know:

Mother's Day is different in the UK because it's linked to the religious Easter calendar, falling on the fourth Sunday of Lent (called "Mothering Sunday"), which changes yearly, whereas the US version is fixed on the second Sunday in May, with both holidays having different origins, the UK's being older and church-based
