Funeral Arrangements for Fr Chris Rogers

Please note that the revised time for Fr Chris’s coffin to be received into St Peter’s Church tomorrow, Wednesday 12th August, is now 4.45pm, rather than 4.00pm as previously announced. We will gather for prayers as Fr Chris is received into the church.

The funeral service will take place at St Peter’s Church on Thursday 13th August at 10.30am, when we will gather to give thanks for Fr Chris’s life and ministry.

As parking near St Peter’s is very limited, people are encouraged to car-share where possible.

The cremation will follow at 11.30am at Hemel Hempstead Crematorium. Fr Chris’s partner, John, would like people to know that they are very welcome to attend the crematorium.

Please continue to hold John and all who mourn Fr Chris in your prayers.

It is with great sadness that we share the news that The Revd Fr Chris Rogers died peacefully in the early hours of this morning at Watford General Hospital.

Fr Chris was a faithful servant of Christ and a much-loved friend of Holy Trinity, Potten End. Over many years he generously supported our church, particularly during periods of interregnum and clergy holidays, and his faithful priestly ministry was greatly valued.

Chris also served as an Associate Priest at St Peter’s, Berkhamsted.

We give thanks to God for Chris, his priesthood, friendship and faithful service, and hold especially in our prayers John, his partner, together with all who knew and loved him.
