Today's theme: Choose Surrender
To set the scene for worship, the band played the hymn tune, 'Holy Ground'.
When I walk through the doors I sensed His presence
And I knew this was a place where love abounds
For this is a temple the God we love abides here
Oh we are standing in His presence on holy ground
We are standing on holy ground
For I know that there are angels all around
Let us praise Jesus now
For we are standing in His presence on holy ground
In His presence I know there is joy beyond all measure
And at His feet sweet peace of mind can still be found
For when we have a need He is still the answer
Reach out and claim it for we are standing on holy ground
We are standing on holy ground
For I know that there are angels all around
Let us praise Jesus now
For we are standing in His presence on holy ground
During worship the band played Paul Sharman's arrangement of 'Turn your Eyes Upon Jesus'.
Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.
Our worship today was led by our officers Majors David and Gillian Burns.
Major David reminded us that we must spend quality time in God's presence, each day. He then challenged us to surrender every part of our lives to God, so we fully belong to Him.
The band brought our worship to a conclusion by playing the hymn tune 'O Happy Day'.
O happy day that fixed my choice
On Thee, my Saviour and my God!
Well may this glowing heart rejoice,
And tell its raptures all abroad.
Chorus
Happy day, happy day,
When Jesus washed my sins away!
He taught me how to watch and pray,
And live rejoicing every day;
Happy day, happy day,
When Jesus washed my sins away!
O happy bond that seals my vows
To him who merits all my love!
Let cheerful praises fill his house
While to his blessed throne I move.
'Tis done, the great transaction's done!
I am my Lord's and he is mine;
He drew me, and I followed on,
Charmed to confess the voice divine.
Unfortunately we experienced technical difficulties during the livestream of this morning's worship. This means there's only a short part of this morning's service available on our corps YouTube channel this week: https://www.youtube.com/live/j4hx1GrmfA0?si=LpQPZBkhUMwT6Go-
