Among its many impressive features are mosaics by the Martin sisters, stonework by Rosamund Praeger and Morris Harding, beautiful stained glass, marble tiling, intric

ate wood carvings, and exquisite needlework such as the handcrafted Titanic Pall. For those seeking a quiet space for prayer and reflection, the Chapel of the Holy Spirit is open to all visitors. To support the upkeep of this grand Cathedral, a small fee of £2.50 is charged for tours. For more detailed information on all aspects of the Cathedral, visit our website at www.belfastcathedral.org. ◾ Thursdays: Said Eucharist (1pm)

🏆 Young Church Musician Award 🏆

We are thrilled that our own Organist and Master of Music, Mr Jack Wilson, has been announced as an inaugural recipient of the new Royal School of Church Music Young Church Musician Award!

This award seeks to recognise young church musicians who are making a significant contribution to the flourishing of church music in their context, establishing their own role and voice within the church music sector and for whom being an advocate for the role of music within worship is a visible and feature of their life.

When asked about the news, Jack commented ‘I am very grateful to be amongst the first group of young church musicians who are recipients of this new award from the RSCM. I see music as one of the true pillars on which Belfast Cathedral stands, and I, alongside my wonderful and supportive colleagues in the music department, want to ensure that the fruits of our skills are shared with all those who venture inside this truly special building. We all look forward to building on this legacy and cementing the foundations already laid for a happy, prosperous, and musical future!’.

The Cathedral Choir returns in full for the start of a new academic year and will lead Sunday Choral Eucharist and Evensong for the 14th Sunday after Trinity. It will be the final service for Cameron Mack as Cathedral Curate. He will be surely missed, but we wish him well for his new post in Kilkenny!

This weekend we have the pleasure of welcoming the Universities in London Church Choir to sing our choral services, while our own choir enjoy their summer break.

Under the leadership of their Director of Music, Sally Martin Brown and accompanied by Bryan Almond, the Choir will offer a repertoire that will lead us further in the joy of summer, including works by Howells, Ireland and Tallis

Northumbria Chamber Choir are the visiting choir at Belfast Cathedral, this coming Sunday 23rd August.
They will lead at the 11.00am Sunday Choral Eucharist, performing the "Missa O Quam Gloriosum" by de Victoria.
The Motet is "My eyes for beauty pine" by tom & Elizabeth Coxhead.

Congratulations to organ scholars Darragh Magee and Finn Sloan for an exceptional lunchtime recital today. The impressive programme included organ works by composers from JS Bach to Louis Vierne to George Thalben-Ball.

The Summer Saturday lunchtime recital series, starting at 1.10pm each week, continues until 5th September.
