As we begin our preparations for the Episcopal Ordination of Bishop-Elect Paul Creaner, it is important that we take a moment to pause and reflect. So often, the demands and distractions of daily life keep us constantly occupied, leaving little room for stillness. Yet it is in the quiet presence of God that we are renewed, strengthened, and reminded of our true purpose.
As we look forward to this joyful and historic occasion in the life of The Oratory, let us set aside time for prayer, contemplation, and attentive listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit. May these days of preparation be filled not only with activity, but also with grace, peace, and a deeper awareness of God’s presence among us.
Let us pray:
Gracious and loving God,
In the stillness of this moment we come before You with open hearts. Quiet our minds, calm our anxieties, and draw us ever deeper into Your presence.
As we prepare for the ordination of Bishop-Elect Paul, pour out Your Holy Spirit upon him. Fill him with wisdom, humility, courage, and compassion, that he may faithfully serve Your people and proclaim Your Gospel with joy.
Bless all who are preparing for this sacred celebration. Unite us in prayer, strengthen us in faith, and kindle within us a renewed love for You and for one another.
May these days of preparation be a time of grace and spiritual renewal, that together we may witness the work of Your Spirit among us and rejoice in the gifts You continue to bestow upon Your Church.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
