Ballysillan LOL 1891

Ballysillan LOL 1891 We finished our 2013 12th parade home to our Orange hall on the 1st October 2016, we achieved our objective to get home by peacefully protesting 1177 days.

The foundation of the Orange Order is the "Glorious Revolution"of 1688, whose basic principles was and remains "Civil and Religious Liberty for All." The Orange Institution as a key stake-holder within the City of Belfast recognises the need to play its part in Civic Society and seeks to promote peace, stability and prosperity throughout Belfast. The Belfast County Grand Lodge wishes to promote Orange Events as inclusive, especially our 12th July Celebrations, for the enjoyment of all our citizens. The Orange Institution believes the 12th Celebrations have immense potential in terms of tourism for Belfast. To achieve our aim, Belfast County Grand Lodge has and will continue to improve and enhance the appearance and nature of Orange Demonstrations and community events. The County Grand Lodge welcomes all support and its aim of promoting Orange events as clourful expressions of our rich and varied cultural heritage. The Orange Institution will co-operate with and embrace those offering support in ensuring that aspects of Orangeism should be accessible to all and enjoyed by the entire community, including those visiting Northern Ireland.

🧡 International Youth Day 🧡

Today we recognise the important contribution made by the young men and women of the Orange family.

It’s fantastic to see our Junior Lodges continuing to grow, with young people getting involved, making friends and developing the confidence and skills that will serve them well in the years ahead.

A special thank you also goes to the many volunteers who give their time to provide leadership, encouragement and support. Their commitment makes such a difference.
