What if the stories in Genesis weren’t just ancient history—but were still speaking into our lives today?

Over the past months, we’ve been journeying through the Genesis series together—following stories of faith, failure, promise, and God’s unwavering faithfulness from generation to generation.

From Abraham’s call to moments of doubt, covenant, and new beginnings—these passages continue to shape how we understand God, ourselves, and our world.

Take time to watch, reflect, and see the bigger story unfolding, you can catch up on the full series here:

“ when my anxious thoughts multiply within me, Your consolations delight my soul.”
Psalm 94: 19
Following on our thoughts from yesterday- we live in a world that appears to invite panic. Everywhere we turn we are confronted with images that same to cry out “ all is lost” But with God there is always hope. God enables us to live above anxiety. He created us to live by faith, not by fear. He instructs us to trust Him completely, today and forever.sometimes trusting God feels difficult, especially when we get caught up in the never ending demands of every day life.
Turn our anxious thoughts over to God. Take our concerns to Him in prayer, and to the best of our ability leave then there.
God is capable of handling any problem we turn over to Him, if we just trust Him.

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble” psalm 46:1
Most of us will have read this Psalm many times.
During the darker days of life, it is important to remember that God is with us always and that He offers us comfort, assurance and peace. But we must turn to Him as our refuge and look to Him for strength and help.
When we trust God, with His love and comfort in our hearts, we can tackle our problems with courage, determination and faith.
As we go through today is God our refuge and our strength.

📖 Genesis 21:22–34
🎙️ "What Do They See?"

Abraham and Abimelec cut a deal over a well, however, on closer inspection we realise that the main issue is not the well, but something else.

6/6/26 Then Jesus said, “Let’s go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile”. Mark 6.31
Scripture tells us that Jesus withdrew to quiet places for prayer and renewal. He also took the disciples out of the melee of normal life and, in this case, “because there were so many people coming and going that Jesus and his apostles didn’t even have time to eat.” That’s an important lesson for us. We too need time away from the busyness of life to renew in the presence of our God. We’ll certainly do that tomorrow at the Lord’s table but we need to allow this time to feed and fill us rather than being something we do out of obligation or rote. Make sure we come prepared and looking forward to spending this special time in God’s presence as we eat and drink in remembrance of Him.

We are having a World Cup event on 20th June, showing two matches. If you'd like to go, see John Minnis to order your food and pay £10 (by Sunday 14th June please). You can also sign up to join with others supporting an allocated team and praying for that country. This post is interesting because 14 out of the 48 countries are on the watch list for persecuting Christians!

5/6/26 Follow my advice, my son; always treasure my commands. Obey my commands and live! Guard my instructions as you guard your own eyes. Tie them on your fingers as a reminder. Write them deep within your heart. ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭7‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ ‭
This is advice given by Solomon to His son, advice which he repeated several times in the early chapters of the book of Proverbs. But, as I read these verses, I can see God giving the same advice to me, to us.
Repeat these verses out loud and put your name in them as if God is speaking just to you. Seek His instruction for everything we do.
