Last week we started to look at a part of Jesus' teaching called 'The Beatitudes' - using the example of monkey rings/bars to help us! We learnt God wants to bless us (lots).
Like the monkey bars you have to start at the first Beatitude before moving to the next.
So we started at Beatitude 1 - Jesus teaches if we come before God 'poor in spirit', ie empty handed realising we can't live life without God, we will be blessed.

This week we are about to swing to Ring (Beatitude) 2 - Blessed are those that mourn ... but what does that really mean??

Come and find out with the rest of us. There's tea and coffee first from 11:15, with the service starting at 11:30am.

We are seeking to appoint a children's and families worker (part-time) to help us grow deeper by developing our Sunday morning children's ministry and reach wider by engaging with families in our local community.

St John's is a warm and welcoming Church family with lots of exciting potential.

While is was very sad for BCC to see Rev James leave us, for a new chapter, we are delighted to now be able to share this announcement of one of his new roles!

James will truly be a blessing and great support to all the churches in D&D, and the team, in this vitally important role.

We are delighted to announce that Revd James Crockett has joined the diocesan team as our Safeguarding and Compliance officer. James will undertake this role in a part-time capacity.

On Tuesday 6 October 2026, Revd Ross Munro welcomed us to The Gathering for our annual Pioneer Open Evening - the first time the event has been hosted by one of our church plants.

We are soooo excited😀 to have friends Evan and Margaret with us this Sunday at BCC providing both music and story. ✝️🎵

Please feel free to come as you are😊 - whether you have never been to church before ... or if it has been a while since last there.

We are simply a small community of (friendly!) people trying to learn and grow more like Jesus.

Sadly no soup or apple crumble this week😐 but there will be tea, coffee and something nice from 11.15 am. 😀

Was lovely to celebrate Harvest on Sunday over lunch. We looked at Jesus providing lunch for a multitude of people who came to hear him and then how God provided Jesus - as 'The Bread of Life.' Through Jesus death and resurrection he blesses us with new and eternal life, if we want it.

Sadly forgot to take pictures of the food ... was too busy eating it!!!

After a busy week of cutting turf, sorting raised beds and barrowing stones, getting our Community Garden ready, Keith is setting down his tools to take tomorrow's service.

This week we are looking at why BCC exists - ie to be a church for all the community made up of imperfect people helping each other to get to know Jesus more.✝️♥️
